I went to Kent for an ADHD screening. Everywhere else was booked 6 months out, but Kent was able to start the process for me within 2 weeks. The whole process took under a month. I can’t even begin to express how grateful I am for a smooth and timely process. Dr. Chris Ehle was to the point, kind, and welcoming. The ADHD tester I had, Max, made me feel welcome. He did great at explaining the tests and directions to me, and helped to calm my nerves as I was VERY nervous and not knowing what to expect. I think most of the negative reviews on here are from people who don’t understand the process of ADHD testing, how insurance is billed, or just unhappy they didn’t get the diagnosis (drugs) they wanted. I’d definitely go to this place again. The front desk lady was also very kind and FAXed my results over to my doctor and therapist super quickly. Thank you Kent!

I have had nothing but good experiences with North Kent. My counselor is kind, supportive, and knowledgable, and the staff has always been helpful, no matter what I've had to call about.

Arrived 15 minutes early. No one was behind the reception desk until the scheduled appointment time. No one knew what was going on. Very unprofessional and rude. Acted like we were inconveniencing them just by being there. The person running the testing didn't even show up to the building until 5 minutes after the scheduled appointment.

Rude, disrespectful and most def unprofessional staff members. The phone consultation is treated as an actual appointment so expect a bill for that. When I called to discuss billing and ask why I was charged three different times for ADHD testing, the lady was rude and abruptly interrupted me while seeking understanding about it. She insisted I knew there would be multiple charges although my sons father set up the appointment. When I told her I'd like to speak to her manager about our interaction, she refused to give me her name and transferred me. Understand when scheduling an appointment with them, it is three appointments and three seperate charges. Super disappointed with their staff!!

I went to North Kent Guidance recently to be tested for ADHD. I had read the reviews before going but decided to give it a shot anyway. It's fast food mental health unfortunately. Throughout the entire process, I spoke to the doctor a total of 10 minutes, and saw the doctor with my eyes for about 15 seconds. The staff there that I dealt with were all nice and pleasant. The entire testing process was a 14 minute computer test where you are instructed to press a button for every letter except the letter 'X'. This is supposed to measure impulsivity. The other portion of the test is a multiple choice bubble test. The entire process took about 30 minutes. Under these circumstances it makes a mockery of the diagnostic process. This is a cut-rate, get-them-through-the-door-as-fast-as-possible organization. Patients are cattle. The goal is to process as many patients through the facility as fast as humanly possible, while spending as little as possible. The fact the doctor speaks only on the phone is insulting and cheapens the entire practice of medicine. The fact that I only 'met' the doctor in person for about 15 seconds is insulting. The idea you can understand the clear picture of a person's psyche in under 30 minutes is a laughable and deeply unscientific one. There's no question; this is simply not a serious, credible, professional healthcare organization. North Kent Guidance Services rather is McDonalds for your mental health. I strongly advise you look elsewhere for mental healthcare. Update, 10/26/23: I'd just like to plant a flag here for all to see, notice the automated response I got on my review here, and how it is the same corporate doublespeak they've used to respond to every single person who complained. Is that the behavior of a healthcare provider you want you or your child to depend on for clear headed, straight thinking care?

If you're here for the "LGBT Center," I highly suggest you avoid Lori Bray at all costs. I saw her for a year and a half and she missed Bipolar II and ADHD. She's just here to pray on the LGBT community. Go somewhere better.

I don't normally write reviews, but I just feel like I have to so others can be more informed. I think it is very necessary as the patient to ask questions and do your research before going into having any testing done here, as their communication was not very good. I was very misinformed during this testing process. I went through NorthKent Guidance to have an ADHD/ADD test. I was under the impression that I would be speaking with the doctor about my concerns and reasonings for why I wanted this test. The testing was on the computer, which is totally fine, and a bubble sheet test. After that I was told that was the whole process. I never got to speak to the doctor. I felt like this test didn't do an accurate job of explaining my concerns. I just didn't understand how this online test and bubble sheet could diagnose me without him actually meeting me and getting to know me. However, I'm sure this is just protocol and they way things work. I was told by (I think an intern) that I would be able to sit down with the doctor at my follow up appointment and have a conversation with him. I showed up at my appointment and then was told that the appointment was actually just a phone call. The only staff to be apologetic was the receptionist. So I sat out in my car while the doctor read me my results while he was inside. He read through these in a very rushed manor and spoke very, very quickly. After telling him I was having a hard time understanding him, I was still not invited back in to meet in person when he knew that I was sitting out in the parking lot. I also needed to ask who I was speaking to because the doctor never introduced himself on the phone :( Overall, I'm glad I took the test so I can take the next steps to helping myself. Unfortunately, I don't think this is the place for me to do this. I'm sure the therapists here are very nice and this review does not account for any of them.

Canceled our assessment less than 24 hours notice. Not able to reschedule for months (when we had already waited months) with limited availability. Don’t recommend!!
