My Honest and Heartbreaking Experience at MultiCare Auburn Medical Center I want to share our deeply traumatic experience at MultiCare Auburn Medical Center — something no family should ever have to go through, especially during the birth of their first child. My wife and I arrived excited and anxious to welcome our baby into this world. At first, things seemed normal. We were assigned a nurse, Tina, and later met our doctor, Dr. Yao. We completed all the paperwork for the epidural because I wanted my wife to have as little pain as possible during labor. But everything changed as soon as labor truly began. Despite having an epidural, my wife started screaming in extreme pain. Instead of listening to her, Nurse Tina repeatedly told us that it was “just pressure, not pain.” She attached a metal bar to the bed and handed my wife a towel to pull on — something commonly used for unmedicated deliveries. The moment I questioned it, she brushed me off and insisted again that my wife wasn’t feeling real pain, even though anyone could clearly see otherwise. When I demanded that the doctor be called, Dr. Yao came into the room and immediately showed shocking unprofessionalism. Without warning, she began turning our baby internally while my wife screamed in agony. She didn’t explain, didn’t ask for consent — nothing. Then she simply walked out and returned an hour later, all while my wife continued pushing in unbearable pain. After four long hours, our baby was finally born. But the nightmare didn’t stop. Two male interns entered the room even though I had clearly requested — loudly and repeatedly — that no students be present during the birth. When I reminded Dr. Yao of this, she responded with, “I’m in charge here, not you,” and then attempted to expose my wife’s private areas to the students. I immediately covered her with a blanket, and Dr. Yao gave me a cold, angry stare but said nothing. Then came the moment that explained everything: I asked why the epidural hadn’t worked at all. Dr. Yao shot an angry look at Nurse Tina, who suddenly pulled out a medication button that had been hidden between the mattress and the bed the entire time. She casually said, “Here, if you want more pain medicine, you just press the button.” But the labor was already over — what was even the point? No apology, no explanation. It felt clear to me that they either completely forgot to give it to us or chose not to. And the most disturbing part is that Dr. Yao actually smiled while my wife screamed in pain. But even after the delivery, the ordeal continued. They forgot to bring my wife food, and she went almost two days with nothing but water. When we asked basic questions about caring for our newborn — such as whether or not it was okay to give her a bath — every nurse gave us a completely different answer. “No.” “Yes.” “No.” “Yes.” It felt like nobody knew what they were doing. On the third evening, they told us we had to leave because “everything looked good.” I begged them to let us stay just until the morning since we were first-time parents and wanted a little more guidance. They refused and essentially rushed us out. If you love your wife or girlfriend, please think twice before choosing this hospital. Our experience was pure horror, shock, and emotional trauma. Go anywhere else — Federal Way, Tacoma, anywhere — but do not trust your family’s safety to Auburn Medical Center. No family deserves to go through what we went through.

My husband cut his finger today and we had the greatest experience despite the injury. Dr. Beers, Tori ARNP, Steve RN, Vasiliy, and Emma were all extremely kind to us and Dr. Beers did a great job reattaching his finger. Thank you Dr. Beers and team, truly the best team!

Went into the main wing as it was a new hospital to me and I didn't know where to go. The desk agent directed me to the ER wing for a standard checkup due to a persistent sickness for a few days. I got into the ER waiting room and they did a nose swap to check for flu and COVID at 12:02pm A nurse checked in with me at 12:30 then 1:00. After that is when it became ridiculous. 1:30 rolls around and I get notified on my MyChart that the labs came back negative. After 30 minutes no response from anyone. I head up to the desk in the ER and tell them I'm awaiting discharge as I've gotten my labs. 2:20 rolls around, I notify another desk agent. Currently 2:44 at the time of writing this. I'm still in the waiting room, awaiting discharge so I can leave and do what I need to do for the day. It should not take nearly 2 hours to get discharge papers

I am writing this review with immense gratitude for the entire team at this facility. I was admitted for an appendectomy and, despite being quite sick before and after the surgery, the level of care and personalized attention I received was truly outstanding. Every member of the staff treated me with such kindness and professionalism, going above and beyond to ensure I was extremely comfortable. They anticipated my needs, were always available to help with any request, and made a difficult period as pleasant as it possibly could be. The surgery itself went great, I would like to thank Doctor keating(sorry if misspelled your names)Nurse Alla, Nurse Peter, Nurse Eunasil, Nurse Jessica and may of the nurses on the first floor. Thank you for turning what could have been a scary experience into one defined by comfort and support. I highly recommend this facility to anyone in need of top-tier medical care.

My grandma was in the ICU. Before this they said she was fine and wanted to send her home. We refused because we knew she was still sick. They kept her there and she got worse. In the ICU, I watched the nurses run around and they were arguing about what medication to give her and what they should do. My grandma's health was rapidly declining. They were saying they were confused about the doctors orders and disagreed with him. The nurse was on the phone and asked why the doctor took my grandma off dopamine, and that she should still be on it. But the doctor ordered them not to apparently. A few minutes later my grandma died, after I watched them not know what they were doing. Their behavior was very concerning for a hospital, and when we brought this up to them after my grandma passed, they said she was about to die anyways and no medicine would have helped.

How can a hospital be like this? I just can’t seem to understand how a person can call themself a nurse but not seem to have some compassion to other people specially someone who is sick. If only this is not the closest hosp a 911 can go to we wouldn’t be here. We might need to leave auburn just to get away from this kind of place. Just awful.
