Service at this location is just awful! Everyone working there from house keeping ( whom some don't even speak English) to the shoppette (same if you can even communicate with them or they just act as if they don't understand English ), to front desk employees who act as if you are such an inconvenience disrupting their personal lives while chatting, laughing, and being loud with a counterpar or on a phone. They are usually too busy ( lazy / lack of care) to help or even check you in or a proper greeting or acknowledgement and certainly no ounce of respect even towards elders. This location definitely needs to be looked at and clean up the shop. No wonder we hear so many horrible stories of veterans who feel they are not getting the help they need. It starts at the bottom. Server us with pride Austin VA!

Worse thing I ever did was to let the VA take over my medical care. Some items they do a good job but I have widespread pain throughout my body. They are scared of prescribing meds that help. No trouble giving me one that has an FDA has warning of widespread Arthritis type pain.

A person at the check in window needs to readjust their attitude.

Greetings el mundo! So, I came 20 minutes after the Austin VA eye glasse shop closed on 24NOV2025. I was sitting waiting for a response outside the eye glass shop, and these two women in there did not even open the door to greet me. Then, I knocked on the entrance window to get their attention. This Black woman had burst out laughing, and said to me, "You see us holding our purses?" That angered me when she did that. I did not find that funny at all. I am a proud 100% Disabled NAVY Veteran that deserves the utmost respect for serving his country: U.S.A. I respect that they had told me that they had closed, but they could have opened the door to tell; and I did not have to get laughed at about it. When I get the chance, I will read this Google review to those two women so they know how I felt at that time. I will pray to my Lord Jesus Christ, Savior, that Veterans in this country get treated better. The disrespect must end!

I tried calling them for my husband that is a Vietnam vet and the phone rang for 5 minutes straight and could never get someone to pick up. He needs his hearing aids replaced and I don’t know what to do

Too few providers for the amount of vets that get treated here. The providers very often will “decide to take the day off” for an appointment the was scheduled out 3-5 months already and because they decided to take the day off you wait another 3-5 months. I’ve need to be seen after going to the ER multiple times recently and they take it so flippantly. I’ve been a patient at multiple clinics in different states and this one is by far the worst. Probably poor leadership.
