The team at Cygnet is dedicated to providing a positive and comfortable experience and atmosphere for women who are in recovery from an eating disorder or personality disorder. Admission to Cygnet Health Care is not open to direct self-referral; the organization does not accept patients who contact the facilities directly to arrange their own treatment. As a primary partner to the NHS and local authorities, Cygnet Health Care operates almost exclusively through professional referrals funded by public health bodies. Prospective patients require a formal referral from a licensed healthcare provider, such as a General Practitioner (GP), social worker, or Community Mental Health Team (CMHT), to secure a placement. Individuals seeking care at a Cygnet facility must work with their existing medical team to facilitate an assessment and subsequent admission. Cygnet uses various therapies like psychodynamic therapy, family therapy, occupational therapy, art therapy, drama therapy and other complementary therapies. The programs at Cygnet emphasize patient-centered care by actively involving patients in their treatment plans and all aspects of life while recovering. The facility has two units: one for eating disorders and one for personality disorders. While in treatment, the women can enjoy the en-suite rooms, spacious community lounge areas, and relaxation sensory suite. Outside the facility, they have a beautiful patio and a garden area that gets plenty of sunlight.
