Briarwood Detox Center Austin is a sister program of Nova and offers safe and 24/7 supervised detox from addictive substances. It is located south of Walnut Creek Metropolitan Park in North Austin and bodes a tranquil and peaceful setting for treatment. They offer gender-specific, evidence-based detox that is tailored to the individual’s needs and other factors like current health status and drug use history. The duration of detox will depend on an individual’s circumstances. During treatment, patients will stay in semi-private rooms, which are furnished with comfortable beds and convenient storage space for clothing. The rooms are designed with calming colors and plenty of natural light. Once a patient is admitted to the program and arrives for detox, staff will provide a tour of the facility and go over onboarding documents with the patient and family. A nurse will address current health needs and the patient will receive a clinical assessment with a detox counselor or licensed clinician. During treatment, patients will participate in individual and group counseling sessions, and a detox counselor will provide patient’s families with daily updates. Briarwood offers daily H&I presentations, which is a service of Narcotics Anonymous (NA). At these meetings, people will hear personal testimonies of recovery and be introduced to NA and the 12-Step program. After detox, treatment professionals will provide referrals for ongoing care.
