I was dealing with some pretty intense depression for quite some time and not getting much help and after a night of alcohol consumption it hit me like a ton of bricks and I went to my local hospital and explain what brought me in. After a discussion they said I was going to be taken up to Buffalo to a place called Brylin! I have NEVER been to a place or hospital that treats theses kinds of things in my life so I was very anxious about. They brought me up in an ambulance and told me my apprehension could be abated the place I was going was a good place and I’d be well taken care of. I was taken to the 3rd floor after admittance and was instantly greeted by a few nurses and within 5 minutes my anxiety began to calm down because I was treated with respect and words of encouragement right off the rip! I get everyone has their opinions and some are going to be of the negative nature but I will say I saw these nurses doctors and orderlies taken to their limits daily and nightly by some of the patients even one of them constantly using racial slurs directed at them and fellow patients and not a one took it to a level I personally wanted to go on them for such ignorance. I was there 5 nights and 6 days, I would have preferred to be released a lot sooner but with what was on their plates I took a back seat to the ones that held my fate and that’s the only reason I gave 4 Stars over 5! I don’t ever have a plan to go back to a place like that but if it so happens I’d honestly not battle the decision to return to Brylin…

place was dirty there were devil signing everywhere some staff were very rude cussing at kids I've seen roaches there was black mold very horrible don't go there stay away

child's ward reeked of pee, staff swore at us, threatened to sedate me for crying

I understand that many of you may have hesitation when it comes to entering an inpatient environment... But take my word for it-- Brylin is an incredible place to be. The staff is helpful, the accommodations are first rate, the activities are useful, and the food is incredible. Don't be disillusioned by places like ECMC or Niagara County. Brylin is nothing like how you're treated at places like that! I know that having mental problems and/or substance abuse issues can make you feel very awful. But give Brylin a chance!

I went to Brylin voluntarily to het help treating my panic disorder. My first 3 hours weren’t easy as the building is old and does not have a comforting look to it. However after I was admitted and placed into care on the adult floor I had nothing but good experiences. The nurses were very sweet and welcoming. Yes some of them had moods at times but given their profession and the stress they’re constantly under, it is 100% understandable and justified. The psychiatrist on staff sorted out new medication for me within 12 hours of me being there and their art therapy and social work classes helped me learn minor coping skills. Highly recommend Brylin if you’re having a tough time and need support for your mental health.

After reading other reviews, I’m unfortunately not surprised by them. Dr. Saddiqui's behavior is deeply concerning. His behavior, both in person and as reflected in other public accounts, is unprofessional, inappropriate, and emotionally charged. This providers actions shows he doesn't foster a safe, respectful or fair environment for patients or staff. I strongly urge anyone considering this location to proceed with caution. If you’ve had a troubling or negative experience that includes Dr. Saddiqui, I encourage you report it through the appropriate professional and regulatory channels to ensure accountability and patient and employee safety. Your well-being should always come first!

Not skilled in Neuropsych. And instead of telling you that, they stall you for a week and a half. Then proceed to tell you that you aren’t qualified for their program due to underlying health conditions!! A bedside transmitter and a little cognitive deficiencies should not disqualify someone with psych issues due to a neuro injury, from getting help. If you have unqualified and inexperienced doctors and therapists, just say that!!
