Absolutely the worst staff. No experience,not helpful, and not compassionate. Good thing this place lost its funding. Probably for this very reason. Your supposed to help people, not yell and talk over people and provide zero explanation. Glad yall lost your jobs as well.

Cenikor helped to save my life! I loved it there. I put myself in Cenikor because I wanted to live and I was desperate for help. It was a little rough at first. But the more open minded I was and the more willing I became, the lessons that we were taught in the oh so many groups lol began to really open my eyes to my own self awareness and my truth. I loved the process groups (not at first) and I’ll forever be grateful to my counselor for pushing me to dig deeper. I loved most of the staff members there . I definitely had my favorites! Again I’ll say—Cenikor helped to save my life! I’m 412 days clean and sober today and now get to take meetings into Cenikor with a recovery group! That’s the best part!! ❤️❤️❤️

I volunteered here for many years. I won't go all the way into details for client protection. I will say the negative reviews here are on point. First, Julie, in my opinion, is running this business into the ground. I have seen many inconsistent behaviors in staff that hurt the clients. *Rules are pick and choose who follows and when. *Repercussions are taking away the clients recovery meetings from outside ppl in recovery, not allowing calls for any reason (even medical- they have to beg), taking tv, taking things they need like toilet paper and paper towels too. I found out firsthand when there was none in the bathroom and asked why. *Literature for recovery was not provided unless I brought my own books to share with the group. *Theft by staff is 100% factual. I know firsthand of 2 iPhones and money just within the 2 weeks prior to my leaving here. *Again, so much more I won't go into. *I was also illegally recorded by this facility without notice. Next, The staff overturned regularly without warning of any sort. Some staff were also allowed to verbally abuse clients and volunteers. When I spoke up Julie called it "and issue", and didn't address the staff member for months. Once the staff member was removed I was asked to return by many. I did. Last, Once I did return, Julie allowed recording me illegally without my consent or knowledge when I brought meetings that were supposed to be anonymous. Julie had 2 BHTs that couldn't handle the emotions of a specific client. Those two BHTs called Julie at 7pm at home and tried to ask me to leave over the peraonal issues of their client. Julie didn't even bother asking me what happened before she made her decision stating the prior "issue" with the abusive staff she has, now this. Mind you almost 5 years apart. Julie makes decisions based on her emotions in my experience and opinion. Julie wouldn't even return a call or text until I called her into corporate which forward the complaint I made right back to her. Then she called and was not so kind about me calling her in. She stated she didn't call me that evening because she was spending time with family. I would buy that but she called multiple others to speak about me. My final opinion- If you have a loved one please consider Lubbock, Plainview, or anywhere else for your in & out patient care. I can recommend plenty of other places that do not do business like Julie does here. I sincerely wish Julie held her BHTs to the same standards she did volunteers who gained nothing but loved being there to help the clients.

As a person in long term recovery in Amarillo, I love seeing a treatment center so involved in the community! The staff are professional and several are in recovery themselves and work selflessly to be a living example of how life in recovery can be. The individualized treatment is unlike any I have seen in any other setting, and they truly go above and beyond to ensure the highest chance of success for each client. I know countless people who have come in the doors broken and feeling hopeless, and when they leave they have a new outlook on life and most importantly, a second chance at living....and are still sober to this day! This community has needed a place like this for a long time and it's so refreshing to see it working in such an amazing way within the community as well as throughout the state of Texas! Such a blessing!

Cenikor has been an excellent facility to work with, the staff members are extremely professional and helpful.

The 2stars are for management and classes “required” to be taken. I did my 28 days there during the holidays and from my own experience, the truth of this place came out very quickly. I was accused of drinking alcohol after going the hospital and walking back because not one person answered the phone to come back and get me. One of the head counselors stated movies are very pointless after having us participate in watching kid movies as a calming thing. Mind you it’s mandatory or you get written up. Standing up for yourself and actually working the program is non an option unless you want to get kicked out. The place is run by a group of women who move off of their emotions and not reason. I was kicked out at 28 days because they said my “mood was bad” in the last week. Wasn’t like I was coming off drugs or anything you know. When I was asked to pack my bags and leave I was rejected a spot in sober living or even staying there to get a job. As I’m leaving I hear the counselor down stairs say the me s beds are full but they are working on letting some of them go to let more in. I’m his place was a joke. I did what I could and got what I needed from it and the amazing people I met there. Other than that, if it’s an option.. go somewhere else.

Picked my father up today from this place. There are always two sides to a story but if only 25% of what he said is true. It’s a place I regret talking him into. I had heard rumors about family members dropping items off and not making it to the client. When I bought 4 packs of smokes I made markings on each pack. He received two out of the four packs. Talked to 3 others that left within the last 48 hours. My father drank about 1/2 gallon of vodka a day. He went in on Wednesday at 11am received his first detox medication at 4pm and they only detoxed him till Friday. Had a personal friend that stays there at night on a different program, he was checking on my father. On Saturday morning he was shaking with withdrawals. Checked with other facilities each one said detox normally last 5 days sometimes 7 days. They all said if a patient is still having the shakes they are not ready to leave detox. They all said you have to sleep in your coats. Never was warmer then 62 inside. You can see the thermostats, but cannot adjust them. I understand most of the staff are heavy set but you shouldn’t have to freeze. Did some research on some of the staff members. Two have been arrested for theft. The best one was the lady arrested for trying to kill her husband! Classic. You only get three hot meals a week. So they give you 3 hot breakfast meals in 7 days same with lunch and dinner. I’m sorry but at $600 a day you should have some hot meals. In the morning you get one 6 oz cup of coffee. Ask anyone in recovery what they have in meetings! Cigarettes and coffee. Addicts need coffee. But you get one cup on the morning. At 6:45 it’s gone and they don’t make more. Treatment is a rough time. Your at your bottom. Little things like coffee, cigarettes and phone calls keep you going. This is just our experience, this might be the right place for your loved one. If your loved has insurance I recommend a different place.

Takes forever to get ahold of anyone on the phone, outpatient services you can not be more than 2 minutes late or they kick you out and tell you to come back at another time frame, so don’t be late, and don’t try to express any concern you have with anything because they will respond with “I don’t see what you’re argument is.” Fancy building full of a bunch of people who don’t really care to actually help people with any kind of mental illness or addiction issues. 1/10 definitely would NOT recommend.
