Levels of Care
Our admissions team will work with you to explore the right payment options based on your needs, ensuring you get the best possible treatment.
Residential programs for substance use and mental health with structured care and 24/7 monitoring. Treatment takes place on-site, with behavioral health professionals often providing care in group, individual, and family settings.
In a PHP, patients live at home but follow an intensive schedule of treatment. Most programs require you to be on-site for about 40 hours per week.
Outpatient treatment offers flexible therapeutic and medical care without the need to stay overnight in a hospital or inpatient facility. Outpatient care typically offers a range of therapies and medical interventions individuals can attend alongside daily life.
Some primary care providers offer mental health diagnosis and treatment. This can prevent patients from developing more serious conditions.
Substance use and mental health can occur simultaneously as co-occurring disorders. Treatment for co-occurring disorders involves therapy and other personalized interventions to address both conditions.

This place is very unprofessional. They change stuff on paperwork. All they worry about is their money. They don’t have no type of security for the people in there and they are very rude. If you have a loved one in here try to switch them to another place cause this place they do not care About the people that come in that need help.

Since they want to delete, I’m posting again: *KNOW YOUR RIGHTS, ASK QUESTIONS, ADVOCATE* This is on behalf of my sister. I understand therapists need to make sure their clients are OK—like having a client go to a hospital for suicidal thoughts/ideation. What I am talking about is our horrible experience at Highland Rivers. On Mon 6/2, my sister confided in her therapist of a fleeting invasive thought she had on Saturday, wanting to adjust her meds. Our anxious brains throw all kinds of wild thoughts our way, but like most people, she lets these thoughts go and goes about her day. Her therapist immediately said that she needs to admit herself to the hospital or a wellness check will be called. She willingly went to Wellstar 10 mins from home and after 24 hrs she was transported to Cedartown, over 1 hr away. That night I tried calling HR, but the number listed here isn’t even theirs which worried me sick. She was on a 1013 which is an involuntary 72-hour hold, and it was lifted the next day (6/4) but wanted to release her on Monday, although the hold was lifted. Confused, I called at ~6:30PM and spoke with the charge nurse (forgot his name) and asked about her legal status. He said that she was on a 1012 aka a “voluntary” admission. I told him that is not the case, and we had a nice back-and-forth of him manipulating me, but I cannot type it out since I have to shorten this review (there always will be transcripts of phone calls from any type of facility BTW **required by law** so I don’t want to hear that he was some sort of angel lol). Once I called her after he and I talked, I heard him approach and ask her if he could talk to me about that after the fact, which is a direct HIPAA violation. Back to our convo, I voiced that her rights were not being respected as a single mother of an autistic child who was missing her ABA therapy visits, she is not suicidal and admitted herself into Wellstar, and she was transported without any clothes and was trapped there. Most patients planned to be there, bringing changes of clothes, while she had nothing except what she was wearing—including only the one pair of underwear she was wearing. He gaslit me saying she should’ve told them and they would’ve gotten her stuff—SHE DID. (Again, it’s all transcribed 🙂) She was to be released Monday because they are “closed“ on weekends. What they don’t tell you: you can get a ride from a friend/family member. THEY LONGER PATIENTS STAY, THE MORE FUNDING THE FACILITY GETS. Where is the advocacy? I told her that she was there “voluntarily” on a 1012 (this was news to her), and I asked if she signed anything else when they lifted the 1013. She was told to sign something else without being informed of or reading anything. SHE HAD NO IDEA THAT SHE SIGNED A 1012 “VOLUNTARY” STAY. THIS IS ILLEGAL. Patients must be informed of their rights and what they are signing. She wasn’t informed of anything! Even the caseworker agreed that this was unnecessary but it was up to the NP Tammy (don’t even get me started) to sign off on her release (Again, all transcribed 🙂). Upon research of laws and the GA Advocacy Hotline, I saw that what they were doing was illegal. She had no idea she could request to be discharged in writing. The nurse aka the jerk who I talked to on Wed. told me this, but she had no idea—I had her turn in a note to be discharged immediately after I learned this, ref. GA Code 37-3-21. WHERE IS THE ADVOCACY? Friday morning, I called Amy (caseworker) stating that I will contact my lawyer if she isn’t released ASAP. She was released the next day. What this place did is disgusting. Not going to get into the unclean environment, or the fact that some violent patients traumatized her even more. One day everyone had to evacuate due to an out of control patient. Did she need to be around that? She lost money from her LLC, her daughter missed important ABA therapy, and I missed my classes. This did nothing but traumatize/stress her/us, but as long as it made money for them👍 Mental health care: DO BETTER.

Horrible experience. Denied me common toiletries that I was brought and lied to. Food was solid though, not a good place to get sober.

Just got home from that facility. For me that was a Vacation house 😄just relaxing and playing amd always have snacks in the area. I just finished my puzzle Work that has 1,000pcs in 5days. I asked other nurse to take picture as a remembrance but they dont want coz they said its not allowed but 1 Nurse was so nice and friendly to me and grant my request 😉. I like Her. Yes they are nice there they treat you good but i was expecting like this nurse or tech(doesnt need to be a doctor) or anyone works there are gonna talk to you face to face everyday to listen and help you mentally. But they are not. Only doctors ask me how am i but was a fast talk. So it was like rather a patient to patient talk. U know people having mental problem is listening to other patients also with mental problem just weird but it helps somehow. Enjoying playing card UNO with co-Patients was fun! I made friends, been a while since i talked alot with people outside the house and it feels good. Just 4stars bcoz nurse or techs didnt rely the message to each other about the food that is reserved for me. They gave me different food and i was pissed off. 1/26/25 But i still want to go back there. I prefer to stay there than the house here.
