First City Recovery Center (FCRC) treats addiction and mental health conditions using tailored, evidence-based treatment plans in multiple levels of care. These include detox, residential, day treatment (or partial hospitalization), intensive outpatient, and general outpatient with sober living homes available. They have a residential mental health stabilization program and mental health outpatient options, along with dual-diagnosis care across all levels of treatment. Individualized and Evidence-Based Recovery Services First City Recovery Center provides an initial assessment and consultation to determine an effective level of care for each client. As needed, clients undergo medical detox with 24/7 supervision. Residential care offers continuous supervision for mental health, addiction, and dual diagnosis patients. Clients engage in various evidence-based therapies throughout treatment, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), contingency management, motivational interviewing techniques, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and family therapy. Primary and Co-Occurring Mental Health Treatment First City Recovery Center’s mental health stabilization program provides intensive residential care for clients needing constant supervision and crisis care. They additionally treat co-occurring addiction and mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), eating disorders, self-harm, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). Comprehensive Approach With Specialty Programs First City Recovery Center offers holistic therapies like art and music therapy, mindfulness meditation, experiential therapy, psychodrama, and journaling. They have a veterans program focusing on trauma and PTSD recovery. FCRC’s post-traumatic growth (PTG) program prioritizes resilience and stress reduction to promote independence and confidence as clients return to independent living. Clients can progress through residential, day treatment, intensive outpatient, and outpatient. FCRC’s Visible Recovery alumni group meets often, with monthly activities taking place throughout Illinois.

Substance Use Treatment Centers in the Area

Recovery Care Offered

Residential

Residential programs for substance use and mental health with structured care and 24/7 monitoring. Treatment takes place on-site, with behavioral health professionals often providing care in group, individual, and family settings.

Sober Living

Transitional housing designed to support individuals recovering from substance use disorders offering a safe, supportive and structured environment for practicing long-term sobriety, while reintegrating back into daily living.

Day Treatment

In a PHP, patients live at home but follow an intensive schedule of treatment. Most programs require you to be on-site for about 40 hours per week.

Intensive Outpatient Program

An intensive outpatient program (IOP) falls between inpatient care and traditional outpatient services, with therapy and skills-building activities designed to support recovery and provide flexibility. IOP is ideal for those needing support but not the 24/7 care of a residential facility.

Outpatient

Outpatient treatment offers flexible therapeutic and medical care without the need to stay overnight in a hospital or inpatient facility. Outpatient care typically offers a range of therapies and medical interventions individuals can attend alongside daily life.

Intensive Inpatient

The highest level of care, medically managed with 24-hour nursing and physician care in a residential or medically-based setting, and can include any combination of medication, counseling and therapy.

Licensed Primary Mental Health

Some primary care providers offer mental health diagnosis and treatment. This can prevent patients from developing more serious conditions.

Co-Occurring Disorders

Substance use and mental health can occur simultaneously as co-occurring disorders. Treatment for co-occurring disorders involves therapy and other personalized interventions to address both conditions.
