Gateway Foundation was founded in 1968 and now has 16 centers in Illinois. Gateway Foundation Springfield provides intensive outpatient programs (IOP), on-site detox, and a residential program. Gateway Foundation uses evidence-based therapies and provides 12-step facilitation and individualized approaches. Clients at Springfield range in age from 17 to midlife adult men and women. Springfield treats clients who are struggling with alcohol and drug addictions and co-occurring mental health disorders. A typical length of stay is 30 days and can cost on average $25,000, and Springfield accepts most major insurances. Springfield treats clients using a wide range of therapies including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), family therapy, group and individual therapy, mindfulness, motivational interviewing (MI), medication-assisted therapies, rational emotive behavior (REB), and 12-Step facilitation. Gateway Foundation is accredited by the Joint Commission. At Gateway Foundation, clients have shared bedrooms and bathrooms. All accommodations are age and gender appropriate. Clients can enjoy the basketball court, a recreation room that has a pool table, TV, and board games, and a fitness center. Meals are provided and served buffet style in a dining room.
