For years I would say I had a fairly good experience with wonderful counselors every step of the way with my only complaint in regards to the counselors that almost every one I had prior was run off specifically by the two counselors who had been there the longest and run a clique like enviorment within the counselor group and in turn great caring counselors leave because they can not take the “mean girl” tactics that are applied to all new counselors who come in just trying to learn with care and compassion. I self paid for well over 10 years until I was finally told I could get a certain insurance and they would file it which I thought that would be fantastic. Well it has been anything but. My insurance company is now looking into them for wrongful if not fraudulent billing practices to which I am having to send in information to my insurance and they are having to deal with the billing department because apparently I am not the only one getting overly charged. If I was to self pay I would be paying in the neighborhood of 527 a month yet they are billing my insurance 746.25 for one weeks services!!!! When I pick up my monthly amount I am told I have to pay 4 copays because they bill once a week and even though a copay is only to be charged on days we are physically at the clinic, they don’t care but what baffles me is the obvious overcharging they are doing to the insurance company and myself. Hopefully this all gets works out and helps every other patient who is having these problems. The sad thing is we come to this place to live a normal life and it’s said that every way you can get taken advantage of, they will try. They used to also have some good nurses but they have all left and god forbid you have a legitimate question to one of them because they might just start screaming at you for no reason. The same for the financial provider. I told her that the insurance company suggested for me not to pay until they looked into their billing practices which I knew I still had to pay because how else could I receive the medicine I need, but for 3 months Erica in finances has had a flag on my account acting as if I wasn’t paying (I have never not paid) but guess what, the flag is still there. If you tell them you are going to reach out to corporate I have literally been told that corporate doesn’t have oversight over the clinic so I would be wasting my time. I would say it has went downhill with the corporate buy out, I have left emails for corporate over issues that were important and have not once been called or emailed back. I am just fed up at this point and since the clinic has dug in their heels on there billing practices that are def suspicious, I have no other choice but to hope my insurance can get this resolved.
