Levels of Care
Our admissions team will work with you to explore the right payment options based on your needs, ensuring you get the best possible treatment.
Residential programs for substance use and mental health with structured care and 24/7 monitoring. Treatment takes place on-site, with behavioral health professionals often providing care in group, individual, and family settings.
In a PHP, patients live at home but follow an intensive schedule of treatment. Most programs require you to be on-site for about 40 hours per week.
Outpatient treatment offers flexible therapeutic and medical care without the need to stay overnight in a hospital or inpatient facility. Outpatient care typically offers a range of therapies and medical interventions individuals can attend alongside daily life.
Some primary care providers offer mental health diagnosis and treatment. This can prevent patients from developing more serious conditions.
Substance use and mental health can occur simultaneously as co-occurring disorders. Treatment for co-occurring disorders involves therapy and other personalized interventions to address both conditions.

I went here and ended up dealing with weird staff and rude patients. had to run away and they never give u a room break especially when your severely tired. they even have school even though it also drains your mental health. BIG nope for me.

Although Newport Academy didn’t physically abuse me, they left me physically disabled. The trauma I endured from this program left me with a disabling chronic illness I have to live with for the rest of my life. They took my life away from me and that is what I resent the most. In 2022 I was there for 72 days, not even three months. In that time I was neglected medical care, screamed at by staff as well as staff yelling at each other, left hungry, and belittled. I was left without therapy or any “clinical team” appointments for weeks when we were told we had access to therapy multiple times a week. They were understaffed and those who were there were unqualified to be giving that level of care. Sometimes meds were given out by the untrained care coordinators which led to skipping doses or getting the wrong medications entirely. CC’s would skip my phone calls so I would go many days without being able to speak to my parents. There is so much more that I could say but frankly I Newport doesn’t deserve my time or energy. For being a “no touch facility”, Newport Academy sure did a lot of physical damage. Please, I beg you, do your research before sending your kid into any programs, you can’t begin to imagine the kind of harm that comes from them.

When a facility doesn't even know what they offer, it's generally a red flag. In the 48hrs of dealing with them, they: - made an intake appointment for the next day for my 12yr old - texted me that night saying they messed up the date and time and offered me 2 other times. I responded via text, no reply back - I called the next morning to confirm the time and they rescheduled for the following day - an hour later texted me saying they don't even take 12yr olds, no apology, but someone would call with resources - I called them right away to inquire and the same lady said she just realized they don't take 12yr olds in WA even though the website clearly lists that they do - someone did call to provide 3 other resources. Please update your website so parents didn't waste their time.

If i could give this place a zero i would. I genuinely cannot describe how awful being there was. I went into Newport with depression and suicidal thoughts. I left feeling worse than when I arrived. Staff picked favorites to an extreme amount and avoided and pretended the bullying did not exist. Sexual harassment claims were ignored. Please for the love of anything you believe DONT SEND YOUR KIDS TO THIS RESIDENTIAL OR PHP OR IOP!!! it literally could not be worse. I wanted to die more in this program than i did out of it.

i was at newport for 55 days and it was quite possibly the scariest time of my life. i was struggling with ptsd, depression, SH and SI, and this place turned all of that around in less than 2 months. i know not everyone’s experience is the same and people are going to view residential treatments differently, but going here genuinely saved my life and my relationship with my parents. i’m almost an adult and have a job straight out of treatment, which wasn’t even a possibility where i was before going there. shoutout to the cc’s and my pod (pine) as well as the amazing chef, i miss him dearly and i hope he’s well. and of course the clinical team (counselor, individual therapist, family therapist). i do miss being there and it was a scary and anxiety-inducing but also incredibly helpful and healing chapter of my life.

The only staff that was competent there were a minority of the CCs and one therapist which I was lucky enough to have. Natalie actively refused to give me access to coping mechanisms I knew worked (music, pencils for drawing, ect.) CCs are incredibly understaffed and come/go constantly, creating an unstable and inconsistent environment for all clients inside the facility. They are not trained properly and half of them are there for school/social credit of some kind. Dr. Kate does not care about your physical health, despite my referral to physical therapy for my legs and history with physical therapy in general, I was denied access to the elevator. The reasoning? The elevator was a hazard to any clients. I was told by CCs that there was a LOOSE CABLE at one point (CCs still used the elevator despite this until it literally broke down, to which they had to carry food plate by plate to each of the three floors.) I could have sued because three of my client rights were violated (unreliable access to food due to my disability, no accommodations for my sensory issues, and no accessibility for my physical disabilities.) Reasoning for why I was denied food: There were several times the unqualified CCs actively denied me food for not going down the stairs with my pod when I was physically unable to. After I threatened to sue they supplied me with apples, but I wasn't allowed to eat what my pod mates were eating. Very dehumanizing and isolating experience. Dr.Kate also refused to write my name on the whiteboard in the kitchen for clients who have a specific dietary need (I can't eat red meat) which in turn forced me to skip entire meals because they will not cook you an alternative meal unless you ask beforehand. Sensory incident: The dietitian of the facility (can't remember her name, probably truama blocked it) actively turned the lights on while I was overstimulated despite plenty of natural light outside to read any papers handed to us (and multiple of my pod mates asking her to turn them off for me). I told her the lights were physically hurting me and was basically told "too bad." During a later appointment with her (because she was the only dietitian) I expressed I was uncomfortable in her care because of this incident. She said that there was no other dietitian I could see and that I could deny going to the visits at the cost of not staging up. Side note, staging up: Staging is their "reward system" where you get more privileges depending on how well you've appeased Natalie specifically (since she amongst everyone in the care team ultimately decided if you stage up). I was fine with her at first, until I told her I could realistically sue. Then suddenly I completely stopped staging up everytime I applied. Why? Because I was unable to follow my pod up and down the stairs. It was seen as "defiance" rather than a disability. Speaking of disabilities: As of now, I am officially recognized as disabled by the state, I need a cane to walk and have a disabled parking placard. They had no reason not to accommodate my disability. At least food could have been brought to me, but it wasn't. Worst part? I advocated to put myself in a residential here and came out worse. Please do reaserch before sending your kid here. Look at reviews. Only send your kid to the highly rated places because otherwise you could lose them. Stay safe. - Aliza Special thanks to the CCs who were kind to me, they were the only thing that made this place barely tolerable, I won't say their names out of fear of what might happen to them. Shout out specifically to the one who talked to me out on the padio when I was having a hard time. You are genuinely one of (if not the most) the kindest and considerate person there. I'll never forget you. You have a good heart. Thank you.

Good luck getting a hold of anyone in their billing department if you have an issue. I have been waiting for a refund on an overpayment since February. I have had one response by email since February saying it would be refunded. Still waiting. As for the facility, I was not impressed by the way my child was treated. I would not recommend this for someone who is severely mentally ill.
