The front/check-in staff was throwing a tantrum about emails for open studios. Relieved to hear other people experienced similar stuff. Other than a bit of whining at visitors, decent experience. This building has some neat artists and businesses in it. So far have been willing to brush off all the criticisms towards the building/management, but seeing it firsthand changed my views. Some of the residents are gems, so even if you pass on the events and stuff, I recommend supporting individuals at BAC.

They knowingly host tenants in their space who are known to scam their clients but act like they have no responsibility to their communities or visitors … I found the Chicago Makers Space via their website and signed up for classes that were never conducted. When I called the center they were well aware of the issue (knew the exact class I was talking about) and told me they were aware of similar issues previously but that there was nothing they could do and did no owe anyone an apology. I had to suggest maybe they should not rent out to a known scammer and take them off their website at least … would not recommend this space to anyone

Amazing always. 4th floor is the best spot. Usually complementary wine and other refreshments. Antique maps are sold there as well as cool art, installations, and tons of artists. Also, there’s a section on the fourth floor, dedicated to people with special needs and doing their art. Fifth floor has pottery. Free parking as well and free entry. If you love art, this is the place to be.

Very cool space for anyone who appreciates local art. The place is a bit of a maze (and goes through a BUNCH of storage lockers) to find the exhibits, but when if you brave it you’ll be rewarded. The building itself historically housed a hotel supplier, and in its own right harkens back to a previous time in Chicago’s history. It’s a massive space and has a whole bunch of different uses from offices, to lofts, to a cafe, museum, and storage.

My wife and I were at a wedding this past Friday. The place was great. Twenty plus tears ago I was employed by Mr.Levy as a manager with the North Amercan Bear. We moved into the building in the late 90's early 2000's. I was pleased and impressed with how well the space is being used. We'll done Mr.Levy and ream, we'll done.

From our first walkthrough to our wedding day, the Bridgeport Art Center team was incredibly helpful and responsive. We could not have imagined a better and more beautiful venue to host our wedding and celebrate with our family and friends.
