Set in south-central Colorado, Southern Peaks Regional Treatment Center is a trauma-informed health facility for male and female youth ages 10–18. It specializes in treating mental health disorders, behavioral challenges, substance use, and co-occurring conditions. Through a client-focused, evidence-based model, the center supports youth facing mental health, trauma, aggression, and co-occurring disorders. Building Blocks for Healing In its residential and day treatment programs, Southern Peaks ensures that healing is tailored to individual needs. Their programs can help clients with multiple diagnoses.. Incorporating the use of thorough assessments, personalized aftercare planning, and proven therapies like trauma-informed cognitive behavioral therapy (TI-CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), eye movement desensitization reprocessing (EMDR), Equine-assisted therapy, and recreational therapy, emotional healing and resilience are reinforced. The center’s trauma-responsive treatment, emotional regulation, healthy decision-making, and relationship-building are delivered by a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, therapists, nurses, and educators working collaboratively for holistic recovery. Resilience and Recovery Southern Peaks ensures a seamless transition beyond treatment with comprehensive discharge planning and coordinated aftercare. When they plan for a client’s discharge, they plan relapse prevention strategies and educational transition support, enabling youth to reintegrate confidently into their communities with resilience and essential life skills.
