The camp saved my life and changed my outlook on life and recovery. From the start I was cared for by a professional care team. I was able to detox in a quiet safe cabin. Once I felt ready to participate in the groups I did. The other clients were also very welcoming making my transition into recovery less stressful. By doing both group and individual therapy I have been able to stay clean. I learned about the disease of addiction and about myself. I gained critical coping skills as well. I continued with outpatient group therapy and continued to add up my victories along the way. Because of the care team at the camp I am able to be the person who I always wanted to be. Successful, loving, non dependent on drugs or alcohol and soooo much more. Most of all I love the person that I am today. Thank you everyone for being there for me even when I sat on that bench and cried. I have been to other recovery institutions and the camp is the one that did it for me. Hector, Torrey and everyone including the kitchen staff, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I love this place, the staff make it even more wonderful. Great place to find yourself, to rediscover who you truly are. Surrounded by redwoods, a pool, tennis court, gym, volleyball court and some great food. I highly recommend this place. 🙏🏽🫶🏽🙏🏽

I came to The Camp at 18 years old and my experience was transformative, forever changing my perspective on recovery. The counselors were incredibly supportive and insightful, and the medical staff provided excellent and compassionate care throughout my stay. The redwood setting also made it a peaceful place to focus on healing, and the supportive community atmosphere helped me feel understood and encouraged in my recovery, the staff always made time for me when needed and I truly felt cared for. If there’s one downside, some of the facilities could use updating but the quality of care more than made up for it. I’m very grateful for my experience and would strongly recommend The Camp to anyone seeking genuine recovery and guidance.

Came here for really bad problem a few years back and been clean for most of the time since I’ve been out. Can’t say it doesn’t work.

Discriminación in hiring and firing

I just left the camp recently, there’s a lot of great staff, i enjoyed being in the forest. However, me along with other clients noticed some of the higher up staff had some favoritism with clients. to my understanding, if i disobeyed the rules, i’d be kicked out. that’s not at all what i witnessed. a lot of clients were sneaking around into each others cabins in the night, some clients would literally just hop the fence and come back with alcohol and nobody noticed, another cabin brought in paraphernalia and nobody noticed. the staff don’t seem to communicate very well and it’s all very chaotic. if you come here, just be prepared to advocate for what is best for your recovery. because the staff won’t. my counselor completely failed to create an after care plan for my discharge, and i got cut off by my insurance and had to leave in a days notice. it’s not the most supportive environment but i loved being in the forest at least.

This place is awful! They allow folks to miss/leave group early, wander around the facility all hours of the night, take their meds at 1am, and the list goes on and on. There was a patient who left early, letting a counselor them they were going to hang themself. Luckily, the person was not successful, but why were they not immediately 5150ed? I have called 3 times to talk to someone and no one answers the phone! I have never seen a more poorly run recovery facility. Run, don't walk to another recovery facility! If I could give zero stars, I would.
