It's not so much the v.a. it's the community care. They have had my authorization for my knee surgery for over a month and never sent it to the knee surgeon intel I called asking about it. They wait intel it's expired then say they need authorization again. The whole system is broke. But no one wants to take responsibility for it to fix it. Just really sad

I have really enjoyed my experiences with this location. Both Primary and Specialty care have always shown to be caring, friendly and genuinely concerned with my health and well-being. They have also always been on time with my appointments. Thank you to all the Doctors and staff.

One of the better VA Facilities in the country.

I did my college healthcare internship here and love veterans so this is hard for me. Both of my parents are veterans and my husband is a veteran. This hospital failed me. I told them my mom needed to be in inpatient. I told them she needed to be in inpatient a year. They do not help veterans who are in crisis. I begged and I pleaded for you guys not to abandon my mother. My mom is now dead. She died four months after I begged you guys for help. I grew up with a 100percent disabled mother my whole life. I shouldn’t have had to beg, and she shouldn’t have been abandoned. I am devastated When a patient starts getting worse and treatment stops working, you need to make a new treatment plan. Discharging a patient and failing to treat them is abandonment. I will never let go of the fact the VA abandoned my mother and decided she didn’t matter. Something needs to change. Whether I have to go to the news or try to establish a law. As long as I live I promise to stand up for Veterans.

Very unskilled and rude surgical techs and heart surgery Nurses. Saw a tech contaminate the sterile field before my surgery.

My orthopaedic surgeon, Dr. Chansky and his staff were excellent at every stage of my knee arthroplasty. I'm grateful for the outstanding nursing staff, physical therapy staff and occupational therapy staff for their professionalism and friendly demeanor during my stay. The kitchen served fantastic 5 star restaurant food I enjoyed. The free parking garage always had room for vehicles and overall, I would recommend this V.A. hospital to any veteran that requires care.

I've seen DR avula for fifteen years or more in the GI clinic and as far as I'm concerned she is the best. She understood my problems and put in the system that she would be the only one to take care of me, there was one time I had somebody else do it but DR avula made sure that I new that she had chosen her and I'm in good hands . Now I live out of state but if she got transferred to N ca or moved to the SF Va I'd be back with her in a heartbeat. J W SLINSEN
