Left my daughter and i locked in a room for 5 hours bc they forgot about us. Then when i finally got their attention they said they are short staffed and ill have to wait for someone to take my daughter to a room. When i said that we are not inpatient and just waiting for a referral they were like “oh, id didn’t know that, i just got here and there person who you spoke to went home already” then they let me go and said thats just how things are since this place is an er.

I do not know where to start. I will preface that I was in the adolescent girls section (13-17 years) I’ll start on my second day, when they gave all of us raw chicken, which scared me enough that I only ate one full meal after that day and I was there 10 days. Let’s go to the evilest thing the staff did next. Most of the patients and staff were black, which made the throwing around of the N word very high. I don’t want to be the person who gets upset at slur reclaiming (especially as a queer person), but I feel the staff should not call the patients the N word. That’s just wrong. One of the patients had an escape attempt while I was there. This person was a really bad liar, which gave her a bad reputation among patients and staff. Despite this, the STAFF should not have been making fun of her. They are ADULTS. Staff also talk shit about patients behind their backs and diagnose them with shit that they are not qualified to do. For example, one of the staff decided I was heard of hearing (I was just overstimulated there) and then talk the staff treated me like I was deaf, almost yelling if they wanted to talk to me, additionally getting mad at me if I said ‘what’ instead of ‘yes’. On the day after the escape (it was 3 people working together), one of the staff mistook me for one of the people, and if she hadn’t been corrected I would’ve had to be forced to only wear scrubs and stay there longer. I had almost no similarities with that girl I was mistaken for, Both physically and personality. The socks only come in youth xs and adult xl It was so dirty that your socks would turn black on the grippy part with one day of use My last point will be lighter. I was not given my clothes until I broke down in the psychiatrists office because I wasn’t given any of my items. They still didn’t let me have some of the clothes inside (example: graphic tee with raccoons on it) Anyway dr Gupta was one of the only nice people there

While they did give me medications for my Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) and worked, The day room experiences were bad because there was a lot of physical fights, verbal abuse, threats, and neglect. I had the lack of sleep because kids were yelling and screaming. The food though was good but mot patients were rude to me and physically fought me. Please do something about it.
