STR Cedar Creek

This program helped me get out of my isolation issue. I have avoidant attatchment and their phone policy allowed me to face myself and work towards healing my attatchment issues.

I had a great experience here. The staff were amazing. The environment is beautiful. Everyday they have a schedule that clients follow to retain routine. The food is outstanding. It’s a place where you can feel comfortable with sharing anything without judgement. I recommend this program to anyone who is going through any type of mental health problem.

Life changing 10/10

i came to cedar creek at my absolute lowest in december 2025. overall, i consider my experience positive. it felt like i was taken in immediately by the other clients and was made to feel at home by them. i was also struggling with debilitating anxiety, unmedicated ADHD, processing trauma etc so i was a very withdrawn, nervous person, but most of the clients and staff were incredibly kind despite this. MOST of the BHTs were great. shout out to Anita, Mel, Tsani, and Danielle, they were amazing. i also loved my therapist, Tori, who was also great, very insightful and kind- i really loved the groups she ran as well. therapists Mike and West were also wonderful. i don't expect the techs to go above and beyond with their care, but i encountered a handful of issues with the morning BHTs Caleb and Leonard making ignorant comments and/or just being rude with me in general. the 2nd shift BHTs felt more compassionate, caring, and just more human. i trust Anita with my life, she is so kind. an issue i encountered was the food situation. the meals are listed at the beginning of the day on the chalk board (most of the time) and you are given the option between few substitutions. i went without three meals a day a majority of my stay because of my eating disorder and neglect of the staff. i understand ARFID is not yet well-known and fairly new, but i do not think this issue was handled efficiently/professionally. most of the morning shift BHTs were very ignorant and insensitive (excluding Danielle- she was a gem and so sweet, she tried so hard to find some kind of solution despite it being out of her control) with me about this issue as well. however, after bringing this issue up to Cameron, the program manager, he went above and beyond for trying to find a solution. the last big issue was the third shift BHTs (11pm-7am) being incredibly disrespectful and unprofessional during my stay. some of them were extremely loud going in and out of rooms to scan our beacons, were talking/yelling to other staff in the hallway, and playing loud videos on their phones. closer to the end of my stay i was woken up by one of the BHTs moving my blanket off of me to scan my beacon and in the process waking me up. i am not sure why this was acceptable behavior while everybody was trying to sleep, especially in a mental health facility of all places. in the last week of my stay we had a group meeting after filing a handful of grievances to try to vocalize/navigate the issue with 3rd shift, but i am unsure if it was ever settled because of me leaving in mid january. another smaller thing was that we were told because of the building being an older farmhouse they could only control the temperature of either the front half of upstairs or the back half, so one side was hot and one side was freezing. our room, room 2, was so cold at night to the point of me sleeping with 3 blankets and a hoodie and my roommate having to do the same and wear a beanie to sleep. overall, i enjoyed my stay despite some bumps. as of the end of march 2026 i am doing better with the med changes ive had at STR plus the ones ive had recently, the aftercare of my IOP program and continued intensive therapy, utilizing coping skills, etc. i can confidently say that i am thankful for STR cedar creek despite the issues i have mentioned.

My time at Cedar Creek was great. The staff is all super helpful and they have all had life experiences, so when they help you it's not just from a book but from real life. They keep you engaged through out the day. The clinical staff is all super knowledgeable and offer a wide variety of treatment and healing styles between them. The nursing and medical staff are super helpful and if they can't help with something they help find you someone who can. The food is good home cooked meals. The bhts are with you 24/7 and are amazing and will go above and beyond to help. In all my experience here was great and really helped jump start my healing journey.

This place was amazing! Good staff, good food, and the therapist west is 20/10 and all the other therapists are just as wonderful

I learned more here by attempting to personally accommodate the programming than I did from the programming itself. Cunning should not be a requirement for a reasonable experience within a mental health care facility.
