They literally lied about the results we only realized after on the discharge papers regarding an EMERGENCY matter. Unbelievably bad ER stay away!

I am writing this not only as the son of a patient currently recovering from a stroke at your hospital but as a former law enforcement officer who knows exactly what a failure of security looks like. On April 19, 2026, I witnessed a violent assault that has left me deeply concerned for the safety of my mother, patients and the dedicated staff who care for her. While standing two doors down, I heard screams for help. I witnessed a patient holding a nurse by her neck while biting and kicking other staff members. I watched as female staff members—entirely unsupported by any immediate security or male staff—attempted to intervene in a life-threatening situation. When I attempted to assist, I was told by an employee that I could not enter the room, and the curtain was drawn. This event raises several unacceptable questions that the public deserves to have answered: Failure to Screen: How is a patient with these behaviors & possible weapons on their person permitted into a room with another vulnerable patient without being searched? Response Time: Why did it take several minutes for a security team to arrive at a "code" call in a high-risk environment? Staffing Levels: Why was there no security presence or adequate male staff available on a floor housing patients who cannot defend themselves? Transparency: Why has this violent breach of safety not been reported to the community or local news? As the son of a stroke victim who is physically unable to protect herself, I find the lack of a "guarantee of basic safety" to be a disgrace. If your staff is not safe, your patients are not safe. I am requesting a formal response regarding what specific security policies are in place made public to ensure that behavioral patients are properly secured, weapons are not brought into this facility and that security response times are seconds. The safety of the elderly and vulnerable patients at this hospital are important. I will be speaking with local legislator and press to make this public. Sincerely, George McInnis

1 star — and only because zero isn’t an option. I’m an experienced ER patient (chronic severe migraines, multiple visits and admissions), so I came in with realistic expectations. What I did not expect: arriving to an empty ER with a worsening pinched nerve post-procedure, waiting 4+ hours, receiving a single ineffective pain medication, and being told it was given as a “courtesy” — implying I should be grateful for the bare minimum. Staff: cold. Communication: nonexistent. Speed of care: slower than any ER I’ve visited. Compassion: absent. This is not a place that treats patients with dignity. Go elsewhere.

I had a great experience staying at this hospital while giving birth. I can’t fully describe how grateful I am to have had such wonderful nurses helping me through the process. As a first-time mom, I felt very scared and worried for both my baby and myself but they made me feel safe and comfortable every step of the way. Miriam was by my side throughout my delivery, constantly supporting me and explaining everything so clearly, which helped ease my fears. Afterward, Linda took such great care of me during recovery, making sure I had everything I needed and continuing to explain things so I felt confident and at ease. I am truly grateful to have had them there with me during such an important moment in my life.

I would give a 0 star but there's no option!!!! Never ever ever send anyone here!!!!! If you believe in people living then, this is the wrong place to send people to!!!! It's probably better to send someone to the veterinarian than to this hospital!!!!!!

My dad was born at Good Sam in 1939. This was his main go to place over the years. He had a couple trips to the ER and recent hospitalization in Feb. Always, a positive trip to the ER and always got placed in a room, not hallway . When he was admitted on 3rd floor, staff very friendly, helpful, and rooms clean. This whole team includes the nursing, aides, social worker, PT/OT/Speech, hospitalist, housekeeping, front desk, phlebotomy, food services. Also, I would like to thank the Wound Care Center. The whole team treated my dad so well.
