I went here thinking they could help me get off of 1 medication that was causing me severe depression & anxiety. I was told that the emotional support component would be there to help me. It was not at all. They are a strong center for treating alcoholism. I found the program was poorly executed and did not help at all. I tried to leave early and was told if I did it would be against medical advice. I felt forced to stay concerned that my insurance would not cover it. I live in severe, chronic pain and unfortunately, while there, I did not want anyone to know how much pain I was in and I also was able to constantly rest so my pain levels were not at their usual state. Doctor Yang told my private doctor information he swore not to tell after making me sign a disclosure form based on that promise- he lied to my face. Its fair to say he ruined my life. My quality of life is maybe a 2 now. My decisions were taken away from me bcs he did this and my body is weakening and worsening now. My neck is in severe pain now, greatly worsened, and I have limited ability to use my arms. I can barely lift them. Im left to suffer with this, spinal pain, migraines triggered by the neck, shoulder & spine pain as well as pelvic pain- I have pudendal neuralgia. I'm tearing up now- Yang took a part of my life away that he had no right to touch. I am an adult who makes my own decisions & I was treated like a child. He greatly harmed me besides lying to me. I hate him & ask you don't trust this place. They are NOT ethical. They literally lied to me & blew me off when I tried to approach them. Don't expect a different outcome. Don't go here. The people who pay private pay via word of mouth have a MUCH better experience & it is a totally different outcome, but I would still not go here if you have any other issues. They did not help me at all and I wasted my time and money when I belonged somewhere else. They were not compassionate to my pain at all or another health issue. 1 night a nurse refused me medication I needed saying I could wait until the morning. I was in severe pain. The program is random and sloppy. And everyone is so busy you can't get help if you need it 1 on 1 at all or in a timely manner. I was told they could treat me with my dual diagnosis- no. He took my ability to function away & lied to do it. I am in so much pain. I was driven back home crying in pain from there. I regret this decision daily. They worry about liability & cash flow more than anything & can be difficult to speak with- arrogant. I tried to talk to Yang 1 morning with an appointment, and he seemed busy and irritated. He told me the appointment was likely a mistake and had to go. I was going thru a hard time and did not speak up to tell him I made the appt. I was trying to leave. Hes fine today and I'm suffering for life. It isn't okay & I hope more like this comes out. This place led my life to be almost fully bedridden and I am not going to get better. I am sorry that I ever went there. Worst mistake of my life & I pay for it every day. The fact that I was lied to by the doctor makes me so angry. I wish I had Yang & another recorded saying they'd not share what they did. I don't deserve this and warn anyone- don't go here for a good program. Private pay might be different and don't trust them. Besides living in severe pain, its breaking my heart that due to this I can't continue caring for my mom who has a progressive disease. I could do it with proper pain care & there's nobody else who can. Yang took that away from me as well. I can't describe the anger & they did nothing for me. Again, its strong for alcoholism. I was told I lacked coping skills due to the facts my dad had recently died, life circumstances were difficult & I was caring for my mom who has a progressive disease- it was a lot. I had no support. I have bounced back and I believe my coping skills are just fine as I manage this nightmare- no thanks to Caron. They don't get to know you as a person which is vital to heal. I hate this place. I live in so much pain now.

Phenomenal results and great support while in treatment and continue to do well. If relapse, no support or even a return call. Always hope for a long term recovery and will never give up, but cannot count on Caron if additional help is needed once a relapse occurs. So sad.

Bad experience right to the final day. Suddenly they care how I'm feeling when it's for their forms.

Caron Treatment Center - Wernersville PA was life changing. I am almost one year sober, and couldn't have done it without the help and support of everyone at Caron. Everyone from admissions on through my discharge was helpful and kind. The facility was very clean, meals were good, and nothing can beat the lifelong friends I made through finding sobriety at Caron.

What an incredible program with incredible staff!

Bad experience. Started off when I first checked in, and a nurse was loudly talking about another patient, calling her, "disgusting, stinky, absolutely disgusting." My detox was maybe one of the most physically uncomfortable experiences of my life. I was soaked in sweat, shaking, constantly gagging/vomiting foam. I have detoxed before and was comfortable. I was so uncomfortable, I was terrified. I do not like AA/AA personalities so I called to make sure they had alternatives. They lied. The place was almost back-to-back AA, religious doctrine. I started waking up dreading every day. My father is ill and I wanted to be closer to him, but also couldn't stand the place. So I was thrilled to leave. Part of the reason I chose this place was because it said it included medical treatment. Most that happened while I was miserable detoxing they said they might have to take me to the hospital. No TVs in the room, so when I wasn't being forced into AA meetings, I mostly just laid, curled up in my blanket. They will claim a 5-day blackout period from your phone--it's actually 6 days-- and you get a couple hours a day. I never even had medical appointments, no therapy, just stupid assessments, like three appointments of the exact same questions. I tried explaining some of my trauma related to my PTSD counseling and Seth literally said, "I don't need the details." Are you serious. At least listen. I work in health insurance and will listen to people when they're hurting. Most every patient was saying they wanted out. No TVs in the room, so you just lay or take the walks if you have the strength, but guess what? Not all of us are strong enough for those hilly walks. At one point a patient learned very distressing news on the phone and started wailing and sobbing, patients were trying to comfort her, staff was stepping over her, eventually they took her to the NEAG building or whatever it's called. Stupid. I'm going somewhere tomorrow that allows you to freely use your phone and laptop after 72 hours, freely offers SMART and Dharma, and I can not WAIT. Food was good but you have very little time to eat.
