BIG SKY Treatment

I was very blessed to be able to attend this program. An I have to say it literally changed my life. As well as gave me the tools to understand and right my addiction. The brother hood an the staff are so amazing that I can't find the words to explain or to thank them. But I will give a shout out an with all my heart and soul say "thank you so very much Derek!!". You moved mountains to help me with the things I needed out side of treatment to recover. No matter what obstacles appeared in the path of my request. You wouldn't stop until he was able to solve the problem, issue or request. Thanks to him I was able to talk talk with my darling love, aka fiancee. As well as getting me into this beautiful sober living house. There was no way he would let me go back to butte or the streets. Thank you Derek for being the amazing person you are. All my love and respect goes out to this man

I spent time at BST this past week to learn about their program and meet with the team. I was impressed with the facility and the clinicians and felt like I could trust them with the care of a family member. It had a great feeling from top to bottom and I look forward to working with them in the future!

As a survivor and a partner of someone in recovery, I feel compelled to warn others: Therapy should be a place for healing, boundaries, and self-empowerment not self-promotion, blurred lines, or having your most private moments co-opted for a professional’s résumé. My partner worked with Whitney as his primary therapist for over a year, and during that time, I observed several deeply troubling patterns: 1. Boundary Violations: Whitney’s willingness to text with clients outside of sessions? often about non-crisis, highly personal topics, goes well beyond crisis intervention and veers into emotional enmeshment. This created confusion and discomfort for both my partner and me, and is a far cry from the healthy boundaries set by true trauma-informed professionals. 2. Lack of Trauma Awareness: I was shocked to hear that a session began with “So, did you have a threesome?” as an opener. For survivors of sexual trauma, this is not only wildly inappropriate but re-traumatizing. A therapist’s first priority should be the client’s safety and consent, not personal curiosity or entertainment. 3. Taking Credit for Clients’ Wins: When my partner celebrated a major milestone (his one-year sobriety anniversary), Whitney solicited a glowing review for her own practice, even suggesting that I, as his girlfriend, write one as well. This attempt to turn a client’s private victory into a marketing tool felt deeply exploitative and inappropriate. My partner’s healing was his own, not her accomplishment to showcase. 4. Emotional Loyalty Transfer: It became clear that Whitney’s relationship with my partner was prioritized to a point where she was his main emotional confidant, often above his actual partner. This dynamic was damaging and left me feeling sidelined, unheard, and frankly, concerned for anyone who values healthy, professional boundaries in therapy. Bottom line: If you want a therapist who will support your journey without making it about herself, respect your privacy, and honor your boundaries, I strongly encourage you to look elsewhere. Healing is sacred. Your victories are yours. Therapy should be a safe space, not a brand opportunity for someone else.

When looking for treatment for my mental health, Big Sky Treatment quickly and clearly became my choice. The IOP program immediately began to feel like a family with the others in there with me. The therapist Aaron, who runs the IOP program, is a very personable and knowledgable man who makes everyone know that he truly cares about each and every person who goes through. Whitney is another therapist at Big Sky Treatment who I have been lucky enough to work with over the past year. The amount of knowledge, experience, and personality she has is incredible and it shows with every session. Her ability to listen and guide me is exactly what I needed over the past year to live this new life sober and optimistic about life. Whitney, Aaron, and all the staff at Big Sky Treatment are a major part of how I continue to live my life for the better everyday.

As a parent and a professional I can't express enough my gratitude for the support and incredible education that I have received over the almost two years. I schedule my Tuesday nights and Wednesday afternoons according to those sessions. It is therapy itself. Thank you.

She has taught me so much in my career and supported the growth and development of many, many clients I’ve worked with over the years. She is truly dedicated and passionate about helping individuals struggling with mental health and substance abuse find their best and most authentic selves.
