I was transferred here from another hospital with a broken tib-fib. From the minute I arrived, I was cared for. Within 30 minutes I had a surgeon splinting mr to hold me for surgery. The same surgeon checked on me post op. Dr. Gele Maloney is an amazing surgeon. Every single nurse I had was wonderful. Including the nurses, aids, transport, dietary, the newlywed from respiratory, every single person i had contact with made me feel like I was receiving the very best care in tbe world. If you have a need for ortho trauma, come here. From Dr Maloney to the 11th floor, they will all take good care of you. Thank you isn't sufficient enough, but from the bottom of my heart, thank you!
This hospital is a joke. The doctors & nurses are rude and obnoxious. I definitely don't recommend coming here as a patient.
Great place, exceptional service would have gave 5 stars, but I ran into the rudest maintenance guy in the restroom changing his clothes. He basically told me to get out because he was washing up, maybe he needs to find somewhere else to change clothes or a different job where he doesn't have human contact. He was extremely rude and was working on level 1 not far from the garage bridge, around 12:30 on January 28th 2026
Just to let everyone know .. I have followed the instructions to go on line to give more information regarding this complaint .. Sadly 😥 no one has got got back to me as of today 1-29-2026. Does UPMC HEALTHCARE really care about their patients? I have already forgiven you; Learn to forgive yourself, it's good for the SOUL .. 😇💕 Unfortunately you need to post a star to write/describe your nurse's review. Unfortunately.. what I am going to post is a great example of what the past excellent reputation Mercy Hospital had in the past to what actually and honestly happened today. I went in as same day surgery for an ear procedure.. that I have had done in the past. So knowing what the side effects will be and how long it takes for my 68 year old (in heart failure) body needs to do to bounce back before leaving NURSE DANI (who dose not deserve this certification and is an ER "NURSE" also) decided to do when I asked for and needed a bed pan underneath my bottom (side effect from procedure dizziness while sitting up to a standing position and walking)so that I did not pee the bed, she told me that "you need to get up out of the bed because she is taking me to the restroom". Tried to explain that I do not want to take the bathroom visit option right now .. asked again for bed pan "NURSE DANI" said getting on the bed pan will make you dizzy. I said at least I will be safe on the bed. So, still no bed pan again .. YES .. I exactly HAD TO PEE THE BED TO RELIEVE MYSELF. There is more negativity (regarding NURSE Dani) to this experience to offer but there will not be room to post it. If you are planning on getting a same day procedure done, need emergency treatment, (value your life, don't want to die) at Mercy Hospital make sure it is done on NURSE DANI'S day off. 😀 👎 🤪 If you are really bored and need something different to do, go to the ER, hope she is working and assigned to your room, then get checked in. You will definitely have the chance to win "THE CRAZIEST HOSPITAL EXPERIENCE AWARD" review to post. 😃 FOOD FOR THOUGHT .. "WHAT GOES AROUND , COMES AROUND"; "IN THE END WE WILL FACE OUR MAKER" SO BE KIND 😇 AND ADD COMPASSION TO YOUR WORK ETHICS AND RESPONSIBILITIES.. TRUST ME IT WORKS MONEY SHOULD BE YOUR LAST GOAL IN THE HEALTH PROFESSION UNTIL YOU CAN HONESTLY CARE FOR SOMEONE ELSE FIRST .. SO FIRST TAKE A LOOK AT YOURSELF .. AND MAKE SURE YOU ARE NOT TALKING TO OTHERS IN YOUR OWN INSECURITIES.. SO GIVE IT A TRY. HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL WHO READ THIS .....
The emergency room is utter chaos
It's a hospital, it's fine.
Horrible, Horrible, A resident doctor 1 said my mother who came in with pneumonia said she didn't need oxygen! 2 the same resident said he's releasing her, she didn't need to be there, 3, I had to pick a nursing home another dumpster fire waiting to happen. My mother should of been in the hospital, She Passed On January 8th ! Even the doctors at Presby called it A Dumpster Fire! This Resident Should Find Another Field ! He Also said her oxygen sat were normal, No it was 90 when she got to the Accute nursing home !!
