The Recovery Village Palmer Lake

Michael lazzar This place is probably the best rehab in the US. All of the staff is very kind hearted, passionate, and full of love. Unfortunately not long into my stay a new director took over. Slowly but surely I watched a place of beauty start to look like a company being stripped for parts. It's very clear this man was sent to turn a profit. Which is really pathetic corporate chooses profit over the well being of the patients. I've slowly watched the poison trickle through the company and start it's decay of something once full of abundance. BECAUSE this new director chose profit, a part of the curriculum has been circumcized. Staff is beginning to leave. And this man kicked a patient out in the middle of the night in the freezing cold because they had went to the hospital.... Talk about an oxymoron, your sir are in the wrong buisness if you lack empathy for human life.. I would like to say although every single staff member there is truly amazing and beautiful. The fact that this one man has power over the lives of others is unacceptable. It only takes one bad apple to ruin the bunch and that's what I'm seeing here. PLR deserves a five star review but poor leadership is costing them 4 stars. For any corporate staff who may be reading this. This message is for you You: If you like to keep running this buisness in the direction it's heading. I will make it my life's mission to make sure you lose profit. You can have profit or you can have purpose but one WILL cost You the other. Fox is just a phone call away so do the right thing... Practice Love & Respect (PLR)

Most of the staff members are kind and caring. Therapists and EMDR are quite good. Some of the meals were decent enough, think school cafeteria food, some were really rough to eat. Practically zero structure to the groups and classes. I had to listen to the exact same class two time every week. It gets so repetitive that no one wants to listen anymore. Some instructors have very different views on topics so I 'learned' one thing and then get told that answer is wrong in a different class. It seems like there are very many returning "customers", so clearly something is not working. Staff enter your room at night and check if you are there with different colors of flashlights. It is tough to sleep with roommates already and then any light sleepers will be woken up in panic as the door opens loudly and flashlights fill the room. Overall the place seems like a big money grab, the contract they have with my insurance kept me at a more expensive level of care causing me to not move to a lower level of care with more freedoms. When my family would reach out to management they would not get any response. Even the internal communication between staff was horrid. It is hard to even remember all the times I experienced confusion and staff having no clue what was going on. My therapist was out on vacation and left instruction for my care plan and the directors decided to pay no mind to her instructions and just brushed me off. By far the best thing about this place was the community of residents I got to know and care for. It is pretty nice to have a sober living area to reset and be around other people who also want to get their lives on track. Looking back I would have been better off doing detox, one week of groups/class and then going to therapy.

The Recovery Village is awful. I was charged $37,000 for less than a week. I tried to speak to the financial person there, and she was never available. I chose to leave so I wouldn’t keep getting charged a ridiculous amount. I was told my total out of pocket for 30 days would be around $13,000. Instead I was charged after my insurance 12,000 for one week. The food was awful!

Palmer Lake is a place where you are able to find your own pathway and work on yourself. Shout out to John and Aubrie in Res, as well as Lydia, Julie and Dave in Nursing!

The intake process was very smooth

Caring and experienced staff makes all the difference. Evidenced based curriculum is well thought out. I would highly recommend Palmer Lake Recovery. A huge shoutout to all the BHTs that took care of me and helped when needed. Tim, Dan, Melissa, Karen, Ronnie, and more. Most of the therapists have their own recovery story which lends credibility. Most also deeply cared about our joining and healing. I met amazing staff and incredible people. Overall wonderful experience.

Palmer Lake Recovery was an amazing experience. The curriculum was very helpful and the staff truly cared. Everyone is very nice. I was not sure what to expect but it met all my expectations and then some. I would highly recommend.

Overall, it was a good experience with a lot of information delivered by a kind and caring staff. Biggest criticism is the food offered could be healthier.
