The Menninger Clinic specializes in comprehensive, interdisciplinary assessments, inpatient and outpatient care, and addressing the needs of professionals, young adults, and children. They treat a variety of mental health disorders, personality disorders, substance and process addictions, and eating disorders. Using a biopsychosocial model, The Menninger Clinic helps each client through the recovery process. Expert, Multidisciplinary Team Physician-led treatment teams partner with each client to identify core issues and plot the best course of treatment. Clients receive the expertise of a multidisciplinary team, made up of a psychiatrist, psychologist, social worker, counselors, nurses, addiction treatment professionals, and eating disorder treatment professionals, as needed. Menninger’s on-unit staff share high experience and a dedication to recovery—medically, psychologically, interpersonally, and spiritually. A focus on longer stay times and a low client-to-staff ratio helps every client get the personalized and thorough care they need for lasting success. Whole-Person Healing Comprehensive care is readily available at The Menninger Clinic. Sleep medicine, care for suicidality and self harm, brain stimulation therapy, and ongoing assessments help each client receive the treatments and therapies they uniquely need. Family and loved ones can visit each day of the week, with visiting hours to accommodate and encourage frequent visits from approved family and friends. The Menninger Clinic also helps professionals get the care they need with a specialized professionals program. Full Continuum of Care Menninger continues to expand its continuum of services to provide the right level of care for each client. Outpatient therapy, medication management, and comprehensive assessments are available for all ages. Their Pathfinder community integration program offers intensive day treatment and rehabilitative support along with mentored apartment living. Menninger 360 is the first private program for assertive community treatment (PACT) in Texas, offering 360-degree wraparound support in treatment and rehabilitation for adolescents and adults. Menninger is also LegitScript certified.

Day Treatment

In a PHP, patients live at home but follow an intensive schedule of treatment. Most programs require you to be on-site for about 40 hours per week.

Outpatient

Outpatient treatment offers flexible therapeutic and medical care without the need to stay overnight in a hospital or inpatient facility. Outpatient care typically offers a range of therapies and medical interventions individuals can attend alongside daily life.

The Menninger Clinic is one of the rare places in the country that truly understands and treats personality disorders—and they do it the right way. After multiple facilities failed to reach an accurate diagnosis because they relied only on self-report, Menninger welcomed and encouraged collateral information from family right from the start. They invited me into the process, met with me for ongoing care planning, and treated me as part of the team instead of an outsider. That alone set them apart. My significant other has raved about the environment. Having a private room with comfortable bedding, access to the gym, and a beautiful, well-maintained facility made a huge difference in how safe and supported he felt. He met with a psychiatrist on day one for a medication review—no waiting weeks to be seen—and the care team has been consistently communicative and responsive. The ability to have an iPod for music and a flip phone to stay in touch with family has been invaluable. For him, it reduced the isolation that often comes with treatment; for me, it meant I could call and check in instead of anxiously waiting during limited phone hours. Daily visitation options and genuinely compassionate staff have made this experience far less overwhelming than we expected. As another reviewer wisely said, you get what you put into it. My advice to my loved one was to walk in willing to be wrong about everything he thought he knew—that openness is where real change begins. Personality disorders are incredibly hard to treat, but if any place can help him, I believe it’s Menninger. We are very pleased with our experience. If the program “doesn’t work,” it won’t be because the care wasn’t exceptional—it will only be because the patient chose not to engage. Menninger provides the tools, expertise, and environment needed to heal. I’m deeply grateful

I was here for 5 weeks in 2021 was very impressed I felt cared for and safe also I was in treatment for 2 years and I've been to a lot of different treatment centers and out of any RTC, TBS or lock down facility I've been to meninger by far had the best groups and the best therapists I will say I went to wilderness a year later and wilderness is really good for treatment but as far as diagnostics go meninger is the best also the food was crazy good they were serving like gourmet food with wide assortments of fruits and vegetables gosh that place was awesome

I was looking for a mental health treatment resource for a client in need, and she was incredibly informative, sweet and empathetic throughout the process. Her knowledge, professionalism and care truly made a difference.

I will first of all say I adored my staff and care team- though this was not universal I truly lucked out. I admitted myself to the compass program for young adults after a severe depressive episode. All was going well until two weeks in I was abruptly told the program was being dissolved and turned into an adult acute care unit. None of the staff knew. None of the nurses knew. Two of my peers arrived ONE DAY before the compass program was dissolved believing they had signed up for a four to six week treatment. It was devastating. Suddenly an influx of high needs unstable patients arrived to a site wildly unprepared. Overnight the environment changed. New extreme restrictions were put in place by upper management (15 minute window for hygiene product use supervised, no access to outdoors, no free access to water without supervision). I feel cheated out of my care. Upper management was callous and unseemly rude- we as patients tried voicing our disapproval and were met with a smug attitude of "suck it up or leave". As someone who also suffers from PTSD, suddenly sharing space with patients who were violent and volatile (I was threatened and one patient was known to punch their walls and ceilings) actively set me back. They are destroying what made this facility great and burning out their staff in the process. Not to mention, there were multiple cases of sexual harassment reported that got swept under the rug. Do not trust website or admissions, the level of freedom and trust listed there no longer exists. The short staffing is a genuine crisis that upper management does not care to fix and I can foresee a mass exit of nurses soon based off of what I heard directly. Currently on the website it still lists the compass program as an option for care. What a joke. In conclusion, though they are blessed with great care teams I cannot in good faith recommend a facility that fails to provide basic care information and treats both the staff and patients without dignity. Look elsewhere for care.

I was voluntarily admitted into the Menninger Clinic. Just to clarify this is not an AI post. I genuinely love this place. I think It's safe to say that if you hate this place you are a spoiled brat lol. This place has everything a person needs to better their mental health. Being a person that's been admitted over 15 times to treatment facilities this place is a safe haven for brain health and brain studies.
