I had the best experience at Torn. I have been to a few IOP programs and Torn is by far the best. Dr. Hahn genuinely cares and she has helped me so much. All the therapists go above and beyond to make sure you are doing ok. I walked into this program feeling broken and lost. The tools I have learned from group therapy and individual therapy has already helped me to cope in the outside world. If you are thinking about going to an IOP program, I recommend Torn hands down. Thank you to you Dr. Hahn and all the therapists for all your help. I will never forget it. 🩷

If ur on the fence; try someone else 1st. Bc this place is the real deal; ur gonna be given REAL therapy. Where the therapist knows ur story & can talk to u accordingly. NOT a rehab mill just for money. They really care

Maybe other people have better experiences here but I would not say I “improved” over the three months I was here. I don’t want to spill my whole mental health history on the internet but my hair did fall out and my GP did confirm that I developed alopecia as a result of a traumatic event. Twice they brought up the possibility of having me moved to a full hospitalization program, which is strange because I was not a suicide risk going into this place. In fact, I was happier than I had been in a while. That’s why I wanted to put that energy into getting better. In my discharge papers, they mentioned I played Fortnite. I don’t play Fortnite. I’ve never even mentioned it. Anyway that just confirmed to me that they never listened to me or understood me at all. I’ve gone back to my previous therapist and she was upset about my experience here. She said that was not a normal thing and not how group therapy is supposed to go, so it’s weird that they told me it was. I don’t know if they’re afraid of a lawsuit or what but nobody seems to want to acknowledge that I experienced a traumatizing event and all the therapists acted like I was overreacting. I tried really hard to trust them but now that I’ve had time to think about everything clearly I do feel like I was gaslit into thinking this was standard for group therapy. Fortnite. I’m sorry that just pissed me off. Like, they didn’t even care that I used Minecraft as an artistic conduit to build and visualize my future. They just wrote whatever thing the kids are into these days. I played Minecraft in between sessions? I don’t understand how that’s something that could make it into my discharge papers, which were sparse to begin with. I did like the trauma specialist, Dr. Emilia DaSilva, but I’m aware she’s no longer there.

Had a breakdown and said I wanted to die. Dr. Hahn's response was to offer to tell me how to. She also had me against a wall and repeatedly told me i wasn't allowed to leave or call my legal guardian. This place was good until I started asking about moving to IOP, where suddenly I was resistant and not good enough and throwing tantrums. If anyone from TORN reads this, I am not interested in talking with you about this. I've done what I wanted done here and I am moving on. I cannot in good faith recommend this place. UPDATE 11/26/2024: Do not let the staff response fool you, we have spoken once over email since the incident and I have long since left TORN since I no longer felt safe there. This is a tactic they have used before to make themself look good and make the patient/victim feel as if their memory is unreliable.

No a place to recover or learn anything. You are encouraged to stay in your anxiety, depression, and negative thinking. The owner has this tough mentality that she tries to display. She was all talk. She might have said two words to me once I signed up. If you agree with there methods and keep your mouth shut, your good and get a coffee mug. If you don't, you get told you're going to relapse. Guess what. I haven't. God is good. God is not in that building.
