the staff there was rude and discriminated my brother and I. after asking for all the information, the lady who called said we didn't qualify and deserve the rental assistance. I may have a disability but I know when I am being discriminated. reason I have taken this case to all of social media to expose the true face of camillus house. greedy and selfish people who want the benefits for themselves.

Camillus House is truly a beacon of hope in Miami. They don’t just provide shelter—they provide dignity, compassion, and a pathway forward for people who are struggling. From meals and housing to healthcare, education, and job training, their services go far beyond the basics. What really stands out is the care and respect they show to everyone who walks through their doors. It’s not just about giving someone a place to sleep—it’s about treating people like family, helping them rebuild their lives, and offering them the tools to succeed. The staff and volunteers are amazing—dedicated, kind, and patient. You can tell they genuinely care about the community. It’s inspiring to see an organization so focused on long-term change, not just short-term solutions. If you’re looking for a nonprofit to support, Camillus House makes an incredible impact every single day. Miami is lucky to have them.

Months back I went to orientation as I had to volunteer to complete hours for one of my college classes. Lady said we could contact her with any questions and that we would receive an email where we could put our available hours. She never sent anything and I contacted her multiple times and never until this day still no response. Even when I asked her a question in person she gave me such a weird look? Like people are trying to volunteer and help this place improve but clearly they don’t want to better it.

My tenant started contacting Camillus House in Miami for rental assistance since 11/2024. Both the tenant and landlord provided all needed documents in a timely fashion in multiple rounds. However, the communication from Camillus House was always blurry. They always told us the case would be processed in a couple of weeks and nothing happened in the next a couple of months. When we contacted them again, the same thing happened. They kept asking for new documents. However, once the new document was provided and they just stopped communication. It seems that this Camillus House does NOT really want to provide assistance but merely stays in business so that the staff get paid by the donated money. I would like to share my story so that others can get a better picture of this organization.

IN JESUS NAME LORD MAKE THIS CAMILLUS HOUSE HELP PEOPLE WITH CLOTHING EVEN IF THEY DONT TAKE A SHOWER AT THE FACILITY BECAUSE THEIRS PEOPLE LIKE MYSELF AND OTHERS WHO PREFER TO USE A CLEANER SHOWER FACILITY LIKE A GYM .CAMILLUS CLOTHING CLOSET IS ALWAYS PACKED AND OTHER HOMLESS PEOPLE NEED ACCESS TO THE CLOTHING.AND NICER WOMAN AND MEN OF GOD.......ONLY WORKING IN THE CLOTHING DEPARTMENT AND ALL THE DEPARTMENTS OF CAMILLUS HOUSE, BECAUSE ITS SUPPOSED TO BE CHRISTIAN BASED RIGHT ........RIGHT AMEN😇

I called camillus house this morning for a bag of food and pet food I was told there was pet food available upon getting there I was greeted by an employee named Roe with no empathy for the poor however I came back with in five minutes and she was upset with me for no reason and lied and said there was no more pet food out of qnger and not out of town empathy these types of person should not be available to handle the public unless they have been trained it only affects the less fortunate

Worst than one. Before I got there I called to make sure, the security guard and receptions didn’t know what Outpatient was, then I got misdirected to the main building. I got court mandated for IOP, and that’s the direction. So eventually made it to a parking for the building. I’m Hispanic I speak English and Spanish. When I walked in asked them questions about if there’s IOP They started gossiping in Spanish about their coworkers. I snapped at them bc I’m asking for her help and they’re gossiping in my face about their coworkers in a language I speak. Then they got offended and told me I needed to find a bed as a homeless not IOP (group therapy with the ability to work) They said that to my mother. And it smelled bad. So except snappy gossiping women who switch languages so you don’t understand them.
