All Points North Lodge

All Points North (APN): My experience at All Points North was very disappointing and not what I expected from a treatment and recovery facility. The environment felt toxic and unprofessional. There seemed to be a lack of structure and accountability among both staff and clients, with a lot of drama and inappropriate behavior that made it difficult to focus on recovery. Many clients were quite young, and it often felt more like a social scene than a place to get sober. I also had concerns about staff professionalism and transparency regarding credentials and conduct. It didn’t feel like a safe or supportive environment for people genuinely seeking help. The one positive I can mention is that a few staff members, like Scott, genuinely seemed to care and do their best despite the circumstances. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place if you’re looking for a serious, recovery-focused program.

If jagoffs could fly, the APN staff would have their own airport 😂😭 Seriously, I'm a current resident and I have never felt this unsafe in my adult life. The therapists talk at you and make a lot of assumptions. They know too much to listen anyway. I've been here four days and have been moved rooms, denied my prescription meds, and told that I can't be trusted with my phone charger- never mind that there are five other long cords in my room. I haven't even met my case manager yet. Schedules change frequently and there is no choice regarding which group meetings you attend. I don't know if making the residents feel completely out of control and at the whims of the staff is part of the method, but I don't find it helpful. Somehow they know better than you, your family, and your own doctors, and yet they don't communicate with each other so you get a different answer depending on who you ask. I knew this would get more difficult before it got any easier, but they are making it more difficult as a strategy.

I liked it. The therapists were great and actually care and listened. It’s a nice place with beautiful views. I would recommend this place for sure.

If you are looking for help late at night to get someone admitted, this is not the place. The "24/7" line is not real or helpful. You're at the end of the rope, and the place to help won't answer the phone? Wild.

★☆☆☆☆ (1 star) HIGH COST, LOW INTEGRATION—CLIENT WELL-BEING NEGLECTED While APN Lodge offers a relaxing environment with good amenities, my experience as a family member supporting my my wife through treatment has been deeply disappointing. The therapists themselves possess solid skills within their specific niches—our therapist, for instance, has been effective with somatic therapy, helping my wife process bodily and non-cognitive experiences. However, the major issue is the complete lack of integrated care. There is no one truly managing or caring about the client’s overall well-being or considering the critical transition back home. Treatment feels fragmented, with therapists operating in isolation rather than collaboratively addressing the client’s holistic needs. My wife has been left to drive her own treatment without adequate professional guidance on pacing or the amount of processing appropriate before returning home. This has resulted in overwhelming her rather than helping her stabilize effectively. Additionally, there is a severe lack of communication with external therapists. Despite a fully signed release, my wife’s long-time therapist at home has been unable to obtain necessary information or even a diagnosis from APN Lodge, complicating an already challenging transition. Considering the exorbitant cost of $80,000 to $100,000 for a six-week stay, the value provided is deeply inadequate, particularly in terms of preparing clients for a stable and successful return to family life. I would caution anyone considering APN Lodge to thoroughly investigate whether the fragmented approach they use aligns with the level of comprehensive care you or your loved one truly needs.

Staff steals from clients 🤷‍♀️

POOR TREATMENT OF VETERANS APN Lodge has some great qualities, such as excellent food, a beautiful location with stunning views, and many therapists who genuinely care and facilitate meaningful processing groups. However, their treatment of veterans was very disappointing. Initially, there was a solid group of veterans who were bonding and making significant progress together. Unfortunately, APN placed individuals in the veteran group who simply could not relate to vet experiences or the unique trauma faced by vets. This disrupted the dynamic of the group, undermining the trust and camaraderie that had been built. The situation worsened when this disruption led one veteran to reach a breaking point, resulting in APN deciding to remove him from the program entirely. For a veteran dealing with severe trauma, such a dismissal can be devastating, possibly pushing them toward becoming one of the heartbreaking statistic known as the “22”—the daily average of veterans who lose their lives to suicide. While APN does many things well, they need to significantly improve their understanding and treatment of veterans’ specific needs. I hope they make these crucial adjustments to truly support those who have sacrificed so much for our country.

GOOD FOR CLIENTS; BAD FOR FAMILIES While APN provides excellent amenities for clients, their communication with clients’ families is terrible or non-existent. They also offer ZERO support for the families that support the clients. My wife was a client for five weeks before anyone there told me there is a support group for families of clients….sorry APN—too little and WAY too late!! Initially the plan was for my wife would be there 14 days, and then it was gradually extended out 1 week at a time, causing intense pain and suffering for myself and four young children in not knowing when their mother would be coming home, having our expectations set and the dashed again and again. It would have been MUCH less painful and easier to plan and accept had they told us at the beginning that 45 days is what we should expect. If families such as ours are left in the dark with false expectations, how are we supposed to help be the support the client needs to transition back home??
