Yes sometimes you do have to wait, but they have always taken care of me. Most of the staff are great. You run into some bad attitudes every where and even in the private sector. If someone doesn't like it go pay the exuberant prices for a private doctor. We are lucky to have this place.

The VA only uses medical records from other VA systems. I enlisted in 2007 injuries broken legs and getting crushed all along the way. Central texas VA only has medical records since 2011 from the Mississippi VA system. My military medical records from time in service are ignored. They do not count. My personal hardcopy records the Army gave when Honorably discharged are considered falsified medical documents. Although I have sent them to release of information at both VAs Mississippi and Texas, the doctors refuse to request them from the national archives. I did, I have sealed envelope containing a cd from the national archives and the doctors at the Central TX VA refuse to open it. They say its falsified medical documents. The patient advocate Tandy Kinard has agreed with rhe doctors. They said I was not doing enough. The Central Texas VA abuses thier veterans and treats them as Sub Humans. We are told how we feel by the doctor's medical records are not involved. At this point I feel that The Central Texas VA systems are a complete waist of government funding and a malpractice zone. The patient advocates are doctors advocates Pay for your own insurance do not use the VA. Do not join the military they will erase your life. They do not care. The Mission Act, The PACT Act. Its a joke. There is no assistance after getting crushed, your head hit 3 times losing consciousness and breaking both legs. None of that happened and the doctors do not have to look at the medical records they just know. Its a psychic feeling all VA doctors have that they tell no one about. The VA is failing the Veterans and leaving them behind while the patient advocates laugh, and treat the Veterans as sub humans

I've been going do the VA in Temple for a long time now and out of my experiences despite some of the bad reviews the worst VA to go to is West LA in Los Angeles but this one in Temple it's always been good to me good medical treatment friendly staff I thank God for this hospital that is help me through physical and mental health issues

Everyone in the travel pay office should be fired and replaced IMMEDIATELY. And absolute slap in the face to veterans especially to those who have to travel long distances there on a regular basis.

Got approved for a scooter chair in 6 to 8 weeks. Now week 14 and only because I chose not to take delivery od a busted one

This VA hospital is an absolute disgrace. There are over 5000 employees working here according to Mr. Ellis the Domicillary program Manager. By 8:30am there is no where close to the buildings to park because all the employees have taken the parking spots. As I drive around the campus and gaze upon buildings 171, 202, and the main hospital, I just can't understand why it takes 3-6 months to be seen. I have had 3 different mental health providers cancel on me when I needed treatment the most. Having the patient request a walk-in is not the solution to a provider "calling in." When President Trump said he was going to root out waste among government employees, this facility should have been his primary concern. It is not uncommon for employees to go sit in their vehicles shortly after clocking in. All of what i am saying is fact and not driven by emotions. This place is truly a disgrace. The personnel at this facility should be dissolved and then the buildings condemned. It is that bad. They dont provide treatment here, they provide excuses.

I’m not sure what happened, but the scheduling department seriously sucks. These people will spend hours arguing with you on the phone instead of actually doing their job or trying to help. Anytime you try to make an appointment, the provider leaves, and they schedule you six months out again and again then later blame you, saying you haven’t been there in “X” amount of time. Well, DUH, every time I schedule, you guys cancel it! They’re making up their own paperwork and lying on the record, and when you correct them on what really happened, they say, “I don’t know.” WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU DON’T KNOW? I just told you what actually happened! Please hire people who actually care about helping veterans.

THIS IS HORRIBLE! The automation phone line is horrible! It hung up on me twice, google lists the wrong phone number. Our poor veterans receive the worse care! Sad sad sad
