I do not recommend this place at all. The school and psychologists posed this service as though it was an extension of school services. No billing, insurance, or payments were discussed when my daughter was referred or received service. Afterward they sent me a bill for some ridiculous amount of money. They took advantage of our situation where we were worried about our daughter. Really did nothing to help, then sent a bill. Billing should be clear and upfront, not a surprise in the end to add insult to injury. After everything, they stated my insurance was accepted, then magically it was. The bill went down to $50 then when I told them to pound sand, it was $25. These people are the same as the guy who washes your window and demands money, except the guy who washes your window actually does something worthwhile. There are better places to go for help.

So far my experience has been good I like my therapist he's amazing has made sure to let me know he actually cares about my health I recommend access

Called to make an appointment to see what insurances they accepted. We have dual insurance. They said they wouldn’t file with either because our primary was not accepted and then hung up on me without a goodbye. I was in the middle of a sentence trying to clarify her answer and got cut off.

I do not recommend access to anyone. Saying my experience was bad is an understatement. Their psychiatrist put me on a dangerous cocktail of medications and added on a new medication for no reason. A week after I was added on that unnecessary medication, I was airlifted to the pediatric ICU in Greenville at Vidant because I had brain swelling in my cerebellum and needed to be put on life support and was in a coma. I still have PTSD from this and even the doctors at the hospital reamed Access’ very own psychiatrist because of the meds she had me on. I had to see their doctor one last tome after this because I couldnt get an appointment anywhere for another 6 weeks due to being a new patient. Me and my mom went in to ask her to put me just on what the hospital had me on however all she said was, “ you were in the hospital for a while how does it feel to be out?” even though from the phone calls from the doctors at the hospital, she knew that whether it was an accident or not, she was the reason it happened. They force everyone one of the kids in their TFC and IAFT programs to see doctor Ruth Cox. So you’re there to get help but you’re being forced to see a doctor that does and says that in response to a 15 year old who just got out of the hospital. Also, when I was staying with one of their TFC parents she was great for a while. However, the last few months I was there were hell. She turned into a completely different person. After Vincetta Merriman had been told by my case manager and the person above the case manager to take me to the doctor to get my hand checked out after an injury that occurred at her residence, she still refused to do that. I almost had to get surgery on my dominant hand because it was left untreated for 2 months! I was in a cast for 6 weeks and her response was accusing me of somehow having the power to manipulate a Nationally renowned orthopedic surgeon into thinking I needed a cast. She claimed that it wasn’t her responsibility to take me to get it checked out even though she was told to because it happened under her roof due to the fact thar I was going to my moms on Friday nights at around 7pm and coming back Sunday at around 1pm. I went to my mom’s every weekend so that we could visit my grandmother who was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer and was given 4-6 months to live. So we went from new bern to richlands to raleigh to richlands then back to new bern. My mom didn’t have time to take me to the ER in between driving to all those places and having me back on Sunday because I had school the next day. Yet somehow in the midst of all this, my mom took me to the er and I was told I had to go to see an orthopedic surgeon that week because my hand was that bad. As if that’s not enough, when she had me and another girl staying underneath her roof, the other girl physically assaulted me and she tried to push it under the rug. She didn’t report it to the agency at all or tell either of our parents. I highly recommend against possibly putting anyone through that!
