Coatesville VAMC Mental Health (116A)

I was in today for two appointments and things could not have gone better. I met with Dr. Muchnick - Optometry and Dr. Ambrogi - Dental. Both were consummate professionals, took their time and really handled the entire visits well. It really bolsters my faith in the treatment when I don't feel the MD is rushing to move onto the next patient. Ultimately I got fantastic care and I am sold, I will continue to use them and this site for medical care. I have been using VA Medical in various capacities for over forty years now and I have always had a good experience. I have used private insurance and care simultaneously throughout so I can make a really fair and well-informed opinion about VA care vs. elsewhere. Thanks to everyone at VA Coatesville!!!

Staff at primary care, Team 2B; Reception and technicians at Radiology, were very understanding and Courteous during my visit on February 27th. March 23...special Thanks to Dr. Akbar, and Ultrasound Tech Mr. Lin Ho. Their detailed explanation of my examinations was highly appreciated...and will assist in my future planning. Just had to go to the urgent care . Was received with total curtesy. My doctor was Pamela Leclaire MD and the nurse was Eileen. Both made sure all my concerns were met, and Dr. Leclaire was wonderful, very knowledgeable, great beside manner and overall a perfect experience. Pharmacy had all my prescriptions ready by the time I got there. This is the way to be treated. Keep it up!

I’ve been getting treated here for years and never had any type of issues. The staff are very kind and willing to help in any way they can.

Urgent Care was great. Optometry was great. Friendly greetings from everyone.

This location does their best with the resources they have available and I get that. I have been coming in and out for over a decade. It almost feels like a second-rate hospital which makes me sad to say. Most of the staff is decent and helpful, but some staff have the "why are you bothering me while I watch Tik Tok Videos?" attitude. Some visits are hit or miss. There's a tendency of "oh you're fine!" even before a medical evaluation is completed. I only come here for service related issues and even then I tend to go private medical route at the same time to get another competing opinion. Most of the corporate processes are redundant. For example, you call for an appointment, then someone calls you back to tell you we heard you, but they can't set up your appointment and you need to wait for another call to set that up. This can sometimes go for 3 or 4 layers deep before you get that appointment. You also get a mail letter about your appointment and emails. Plenty of inefficient and usually slow moving processes. Sometimes the walls of various buildings smell like they need to be bleached. 😔 I hope things can turn around here for all veterans! 🇺🇸

Lowest quality care in the area. If u get an apt on the phone get their name because 50% of the time they will forget to put it in the system,
