CORE Program at Futures Recovery Healthcare

Intake counselors lied about what could be provided in order just to make a commission; intake staff laughs behind your back and write unlattering summaries just to bolster their unemphatic egos; those truly suffering are just left adrift sent to cookie cutter group meetings; spoke to a medical Dr once during 2 wks stay; they don't care about your recovery only that you don't croak while under "their care" for liability reasons; location is is isolated around Jupiter, FL area an truly scary

This was my 2nd go around with Futures, obviously my 1st experience was great as I chose to return after relapsing. I truly believe that this place is really good as long as you realize that you have to put in the work and stop bitching about every little thing. "It is what you make it" Loved my fellow peers, the community caring of each other! Especially Rattlesnake Steve!! My therapists (Laura & Jessica) were both amazing and changed my life mentally, for the most part all the facilitators were awesome too. (Olivia, Nicole, Brandi, James, Craig, Marshall, Bethanne all rock) a few others not so much but ALL of them are really nice! The Tech Team has a very busy job that requires a ton of patience, considering they have to deal with a bunch of whining addicts that are constantly coming and going, they deserve a round of applause and a pay raise$$$ Rachel, Andre, Darius, Sarah, Haley, Alesha, Ruben, Isaac, Isiah, Mia and several others were spectacular!! Sorry if I missed others, too many techs to keep track of. The kitchen staff Christine, Maria and Bryan work their tails off every day all day to make sure we all got fed, the food isn't 5 star but it is good and I have no complaints. 8pm snacks ROCK!! The nursing staff rocks too, hard working and also extremely patient, we all NEED OUR MEDS. Alumni rocks, Chris, John and Ian can't possibly be replaced! Unfortunately I must end this review on a negative note. Futures allowed a couple of individuals into the program that came straight from federal prison after serving many years for very serious felonies (fact based) They were and still are predators to the existing community as they are still there. Undressing women with there eyes, making very inappropriate gestures and comments and trying to start racial issues. One particular female client stood up for herself and also advocated for the other woman too. Things were NOT handled properly AT ALL and really put this female and others in a situation, they had to be full of fear as an employee gave the accused, the names of the accusers that had filed the complaint, she felt so much fear that she had to exit (AMA) for her own sense of safety. Keep in mind she was a CASH pay client who lost money and time. I will not be relapsing again so I have no need to worry about these type of people being allowed in this HIGH END treatment center, but I don't believe I would refer anyone at this time. This would of been a 5 star review but this incident definitely made me reevaluate the people behind the scenes that are only worried about one thing, I will let you ponder on what that may be.

My experience at Futures started off well. When I expressed safety concerns to staff, I was met with alienation from staff and clients. For a facility that boasts safety as their number one priority, I certainly did not have the experience they claim. Upon talking with their staff (techs) on the evening of Saturday, February 21st, I was told by their techs, Issac and Andre, that I could lock my door and hold on to my cellphone for my personal sense of security. By Sunday morning, February 22nd, the entire situation had been relayed to a certain individual and the entire population at Futures. I was repeatedly told not to lock my door and to turn in my cellphone. (All techs under the administration of Alicia and Haylee). Monday, February 23rd, I was again met with “you cannot lock your door.” by Futures staff. Waking up to it unlocked. My husband ultimately sent a distressed email to the Futures team that was, again, met with hostility. They could not guarantee my safety. Doors to the exterior, both going inside and out, are not secure. The entire situation was dealt with dereliction and negligence. I woke up Tuesday, February 24th to our door propped wide open. Almost as though instilling fear. Angela and Stacey said they would “look into it.” I had no choice but to leave Futures for my own safety. I had no idea that a self pay individual there to make strides for my future would be met with this type of response. Think twice before sending yourself, a friend or a family member to this facility.

I was a patient at Orenda, and my experience was deeply concerning. During my stay, my psychiatric medications were adjusted daily. After one medication change, I experienced extrapyramidal symptoms (EPS) severe enough that I was sent to the ER. When I arrived, my medication list was incomplete and I did not have direct access to contact my family for support. That was an extremely distressing situation. Much of my daily programming consisted of completing online forms to assess potential diagnoses (at an additional fee), which did not feel individualized or conducive to betterment. I also raised concerns about not being allowed access to personal devices. Access to devices was a selling point of Orenda, but I was told by the clinical director that for my case it was necessary for treatment to not have access. Yet, despite my repeatedly expressed concerns, it created isolation from my support system during a vulnerable time in dangerous circumstances. While I was told my therapist had expertise in LGBTQ+ trauma, I did not experience the level of cultural sensitivity or care I expected. I felt blindsided and tricked into coming out in a way that did not feel fully consensual or therapeutically appropriate. That experience significantly impacted my sense of safety. I understand that treatment centers must have policies in place, but my experience felt disorganized and contradictory to their own handbook. The focus was clearly on payment and prolonged payment for as long as possible. I hope leadership reviews their practices and begins to focus on patients as opposed to payment, and begin a process that requires multiple approvals as opposed to one person’s orders and direction.

I really feel and believe that case manager Ben Mihacivich is a disingenuous phony. I feel and believe that he puts up a great act but when it comes down to it all that matters to him is getting people to sign up for more time so the Futures can get more money. I highly recommend not trusting Ben Mihacivich.

Futures offers premier substance abuse and mental health care. With different programs and levels of care to choose from, they have the ability to meet the many different needs of individuals with substance and mental health issues. Their staff is highly knowledgeable and cares deeply about their clients and the work they do. Highly recommend Futures to anyone in need of ethical, high quality care.

Do not believe the fraudulent reviews that were given as an incentive. This facility is a danger to its clients, specifically women. I was sexually harassed and treated inappropriately by the psych nurse. I supplied Futures with many forms of proof and only asked for my money back as I was self-paid. Future’s predatory administration strung me along for well over 2 years, promising a resolution only to ultimately tell me they owe me nothing. I will use every platform possible to talk about this disgusting place.
