Just got home from this "treatment facility" which I specifically told them prior to arriving I was only going for detox. Upon calling, i was told i would be able to call my spouse, and upon arriving they take your phone immediately and i was told no phone calls allowed, and the worker told me that they will lie to you to get you there, and apologized as she has no say to adjust their protocol. First day there, was put in the outside bunkhouse, which smelt like sewage from the get go. Room looked like it hadnt been cleaned in months. When a female staff came in to check she asked me "whats that smell" like I was the cause, while i had opened both windows just to try and aleavite the smell of what i can only describe as a gagging sewage stench. Boogers smeared all over the walls and windowsills. Had a shared bathroom with 15 plus other male residents - walked into the bathroom and there was piss all over the floors and the bathroom looked like the shower hadn't been adqueately cleaned in months. The beds are 5 inches thick, so dont expect any sort of comfort from that aspect. I was scolded that i wasnt going to any group meetings because i felt horrible, as one normally does when going to a detox facility. They are understaffed, as you wont be able to get you nightly meds until 1015 pm at the earliest, unless you wait in line for 4 hours. I was told "don't expect your recovery to be comfortable", which is obvious but they make it unbearable. The higher ups are playing gangerster rap music about using and selling drugs - really good view on what you should be giving to your clients who are in recovery. One day, they ran out of food, so didnt get lunch for 2 hours later, which they cooked chicken as quick as they could which gave me diarrhea for the next 3 days. Constantly this facility ran out of water bottles. I told them i wanted to leave, which i agreed to stay on more day and i would leave in the morning. The next day they told me i wasnt on the schedule to leave, when the previous day I had talked to my counselor and the second in command whom told me i would be good to leave in the morning. Upon this, i knocked on the managers door a few times before getting frustrated as she refused to answer for the last 2 days when she was clearly in her office, so i banged a bit rudely to get her attention, which she responded to aggressively "dont bang on my door like youre the police" which i responded, ive been knocking for two days and you dont answer, so i apologized but told her I was cleared to leave the day prior and was told I was not allowed to leave, in which they were literally holding me against my will at that point. She just responded "leave, go..." just not very professional at all in my opinion. I drove 9 hours to get there so wanted to leave so i could arrive home at a decent time, but because of the lack of management, i didnt get home until 1130pm that night.
The Pros, my conserlor Kim genuinely seemed like she cared, same with Alyssa. The nurses seem very heartwarming, and even though they are understaffed they seem like they really are trying there best to accomodate to you. The staff there will help you to the best of there ability and i appreciate them doing what they could to help me with what they were given. There are lots of amenities, a work out facility, a big property, where you can fish, play sports, hike, and lots to do.
Overall, i give this place two stars due to the uncleansliness of the facility and the managements inability to run the show affectively. They kept trying to get me to take suboxone which i dont believe substituting one drug for another is a good remedy for addiction. Yes, i am a drug addict that went to the facility to get help from the initial withdrawal symptoms, but i have a job and family that i need to return to, but was made to feel like i had no chance of recovery and that i was wasting their time for even going. If you dont have any other options, its not the worst facility, but they definitely need to step up and do a better job on their end.
