Located in Athens, Ohio, Bassett House provides a peaceful setting for teens aged 13-18 managing substance use challenges. Its rural setting allows residents to step away from daily stress and prioritize recovery. Compassionate staff maintain a strengths-based environment, ensuring every youth feels safe and supported throughout their stay. Trauma Informed Care And Evidence-Based Therapy The program integrates motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and trauma-informed care. Using the Bio-Psychosocial Model, the team treats the whole person to address substance misuse. This approach includes the Solution Focused IV Recovery Track (SIRT), a specialized program for adolescents overcoming intravenous opiate use. Aftercare Plans For A Safe Return An on-campus school maintains educational progress alongside therapy. Daily activities, including art, gardening, and sober outings, foster healthy new habits. To ensure long-term success, staff collaborate with families and referral agents to design aftercare plans that support the youth’s transition back home.
