New Directions Mental Health - Robinson

I'm not mad, just disappointed. I worked with a therapist at this office for years, whose approach to therapy consisted of long, winding anecdotes about her other patients and a shocking indifference at my SI. I once broke down in a session because I was so scared I wasn't going to be alive by our next, and she still didn't bother to ask what was causing my pain or if I wanted to talk about it—almost always pivoting to asking about my work or personal life. She spent years asking me to challenge my distorted thinking, but never once gave me the tools to do so, nor did she offer a safe space to talk through my negative thinking so we could challenge it together. The front office folks are really nice, and I've never had a problem with billing. Grateful for New Directions for allowing telehealth and for being easy to work with.

My experience at New Directions has been great. Their space is quiet and welcoming, and my therapist is top-notch.

Never answer the phone or return calls. Ran out of my scripts and apparently no one can help me. Leaving this office ASAP. RUN AWAY Whoever responds to these reviews is a joke. If this office would’ve just answered the phone or returned my calls in the first place I never would’ve had to call EVERY New Directions office including their intake line OR get the clinical director involved. I’m extremely disappointed. As someone who works in the mental health field this office is a JOKE. DON’T GO HERE.

The staff and my doctor very friendly and kind. DR. Merak has a great sense of humor.
