Oceans Behavioral Hospital Corpus Christi

My husband was taken here involuntarily after a councilor gave emergency services false information. He was forced into signing in voluntarily under threat of a judges order, a longer stay, and loss of rights. I tried calling many times to talk to anybody that would answer, but every option on the automated menu went to voicemail and I never received a call back after leaving a message. Even the operator went to voicemail. When I went to take him some changes of clothes, I stood outside the door ringing the doorbell for around five minutes before somebody finally answered. The whole time I was standing there I could hear the nurses talking and laughing right on the other side of the door. My husband said that he felt unsafe the entire time he was there. The staff weren’t doing their jobs. Nobody could tell him anything that was going on. After five days they finally told him they still didn’t have any kind of treatment plan for him. It wasn’t until day eight that he finally saw a doctor, after getting the VA involved, and the doctor agreed that he shouldn’t have been there in the first place.

Some are very rude when it comes to disabilities and I was handicapped but some didn't care either.

My son was there. He really got treatment he desperately needed. He's got a dual diagnosis. Most every nurse was helpful. My only issue was half the time Noone answers the phone. Otherwise Im thankful for the help for my son.

Every single thing I needed was already in place before I even asked. We received the help we needed, and I can truly say this place was a Godsend. They walked me through everything I needed to know and made the entire process smooth and comforting. I couldn’t be more grateful for the experience and the care we received. UPDATE OCT8TH2025: STILL NO DONT ANSWER PHONE Called to tell them a patient has a appt today for three days he is gonna loose his benefits cause yall rude people. Rude people and staff put people with non violent behavior with violent people.I have mental anxiety I have issues talking with anyone so this place is horrible. Unclean windows not properly sanitized or clean linin. They won't release you. Called several times yesterday with no answer! Horrible don't send your children here only drugs and people on them in their.

We had no idea or what to expect when I called Oceans. They connected me to their liaison Henry Flores. Henry to my surprise answered his phone on the second ring. I explained to him what was going on and he immediately said, “ I can help”. He took care of everything and told me where and what to do. Henry made what I thought was going to take weeks happen within a few hours. I will always be thankful for his prompt attention and his caring words.
