I recently traveled from NYC to visit my friend staying at PorchLight Recovery in Lancaster, PA. I was inspired by the entire experience and left that weekend feeling my friend was in the right place to overcome something she has been struggling with for some time. Having never visited Lancaster prior, I fully understand why she chose Porchlight as a place to continue her recovery. The drive from Manhattan was just a little over 2 hours, and once there, I was taken back by how beautiful both the downtown area and surrounding countryside is, complete with everything from nature walks to theaters and galleries, and so many Amish buggies. Knowing my friend is in a supportive community that allowed me to be a part of the solution really meant a lot to us both. The on-campus visitor housing made for an easy, stress-free visit, and provided us space to connect. The Porchlight community truly reflects the character and beauty of the area, and seeing my friend thriving in a place that values dignity and personal growth alongside accountability, felt like it was the perfect balance of what she was needing for so long. I am grateful for the experience, and I am already planning my next visit back to support her.

My partner has been a resident of this home and it was an amazing experience for us both. Bridget is super friendly and really shows an interest in all of the residents (and their partners). I have stayed at the Airbnb associated with Porchlight and it was extremely comfortable and affordable. Another tremendous benefit was the availability of intensive outpatient treatment located just minutes from the homes. The close proximity made it simple for our loved one to attend clinical services consistently without stress or transportation issues—something that genuinely enhanced their progress. Overall, we would highly, wholeheartedly recommend PorchLight to any family seeking a safe, supportive, and well-rounded recovery environment. The combination of caring staff, beautiful housing, strong community, and nearby treatment options made all the difference for our loved one—and for us.
