This place is terrible. The psychiatrist was so horrible I begged to have someone different and the nurse just laughed at me. The “therapy” was just reading a packet about anxiety, not actually talking about issues. And the psych techs on the floor that ran groups are just random psychology majors who don’t have any training in running groups. Go to Abbott Northwestern, they are all professionally trained there and give a shit about you and about doing a good job.

Dr Richardson sucks everything he did with my meds are now being reversed back to normal at the place I transferred too. Dr R claimed he was an addiction phyc doc with 30 yrs of experience and lowered my Vyvanse. but I'm at a real addiction residential now and they brought it back up to the normal dose I was at and took me off the lithium and the REAL addiction doc here with real experience said I didn't have a mood disorder or low lows or high highs! Dr R would talk down to me make me feel uncomfortable to talk to him and would come into my room every morning at 7am to 8am didn't let me wake up before talking to him and would never bring me to the consult room! He came to talk to me in day room once for our daily check up did it right there infront of everyone and after seeing me he talked to the patient next to me and that patient asked him a silly question at the end of their Convo and doc responded to him briefly then walked away looked at me and laughed HOW UNPROFESSIONAL! Please bring back doctor VANCE she was the best that is why I decided to come back to your facility in the first fing place. ON a GOOD note your staff besides Dr Richardson are 98% awesome! Lisa D is the best phyc tech staff and always made me feel better she deserves a Raise.

horrible horrible horrible. terrible communication between staff. didn’t see any doctor until i was there for almost 30 hours. the only help i got was from peers there. you’re better off at home truly.

This place is a money grab. They had no urgency to get my kid home and even said he needed to stay another day and when I said no he is coming home today they said ok and an hour later we left. So why did they think he needed another day? They didn’t coordinate with his school and I had to spend a lot of time on the phone trying to get the right person. I had a much much much better experience at Abbot Northwestern. Update: 12/04/24 Now they have sent me a delinquent notice on a bill I paid in oct. what a surprise, they are trying to get me to pay twice. I told you they are a money grab! Luckily I knew they were going to pull some kind of foolery so I saved my auth code email from them so I can prove I already paid the bill. Update: 9/5/25 What a shocker they sent me another bill even though I have already proved to them I paid this already…. keep all of your paper work and receipts from this place. Worst experience of my life dealing with them and my kid was there for suicidal issues, so that should tell you how awful this place is

They're the best option for anyone under 35 I know the food sucks but that's not why your getting help! Best phyc ward I've ever been too!
