SOBA New Jersey Detox

Soba was a phenomenal experience for me personally, the staff was wonderful. I learned lots and was able to continue my program after wards.

SOBA NJ truly changed my life. The techs and clinicians made me feel welcome from day one and helped me find hope again. Everyone there genuinely cares and goes above and beyond to support your recovery. I’m so grateful for everything they’ve done for me — I wouldn’t be where I am today without them. Big shout out to Mike C, Scott, Hov, Desi, Phil, Sam, and the rest of the team !

This facility is extremely poorly managed. I strongly recommend avoiding it for the sake of yourself and your family. The organization operates unethically and prioritizes profit over patient well-being. The owners show little genuine concern for those in their care, treating individuals as numbers rather than people. One staff member in particular, Christian, has demonstrated a serious lack of integrity, providing misleading information to bring people into the facility. Overall, there is no structure, consistency, or true commitment to patient care.

This place is fantastic! The staff is amazing, caring and knowledgeable. The friendly atmosphere they provide helps make your experience that much easier. The med staff is great, friendly and thorough. The staff in the kitchen make some of the best food I've ever had. Through their program I have completely turned my life around and I couldn't be more grateful. I recommend this place whenever the topic comes up, and I will continue to do so. Thank you again.

Things I Wish I Knew Before Coming to Soba I’m writing this while it’s still fresh in my mind. First, admissions made it seem like beds were almost gone and I had to rush to get in, but when I got there, it was obvious there were plenty open. Once you arrive, you’re basically locked in the basement. From about 10:30 at night until 8 in the morning, you can’t move around the house without a tech. That means no smoke breaks or stepping outside unless they say so. If you’ve ever dealt with trauma, it really does feel like being trapped, almost like being in jail. The biggest thing: don’t let them rush you through the paperwork. Read every single thing. If you leave against medical advice, they will only hand you your ID and insurance card. They keep your keys, wallet, phone — basically anything you’d need to get home safely. For a place that claims to care about your safety, that policy is pretty unbelievable. Getting help is already humiliating and hard enough, but this made it worse. They say they care about you, but some of their rules actually put you in unsafe situations. And if you’re someone who needs Suboxone, be warned: they won’t give it until 48–72 hours after your last use. They’ll give you a big explanation about precipitated withdrawal, but the truth is most places will dose you based on your symptoms, usually within 12–24 hours. I can’t imagine waiting three full days… you’d be in absolute hell by then. Overall, I wish someone had told me these things before I went in. Treatment is supposed to be a place where you feel safe and supported, not pressured, trapped, or left without your belongings. Everyone deserves honesty, dignity, and real care when they’re at their most vulnerable. If you’re considering Soba, just go in with your eyes wide open and ask every question you need to before signing anything. Or find another rehab 🤷🏻‍♀️ **posting anonymously**

SOBA was extremely important for the beginning of my recovery journey. They taught me the tools I needed to set up for success. Kristen and Katelyn my therapists were compassionate and informative the techs were all awesome. The tech supervisor Abby was extremely helpful in facilitating all my requests and needs. Mike the other tech supervisor took my phone call at 2 AM and helped save my life.The medical Staff were all extremely helpful and compassionate. My overall experience at SOBA made it easy for me to transition back to the real world.Thank you to everyone at SOBA may GOD bless you all!

This is the best facility I've been to so far,I had an alcohol problem and the staff there made us feel safe and actually cared for us
