United Recovery Project’s (URP) unique approach to substance addiction treatment provides a nurturing and empowering environment for clients to find the help they need. Through an expansive, supportive alumni network and a staff made up almost entirely of those with firsthand, personal experience with addiction, clients are supported by those who can directly relate to what they’re going through. URP’s custom-made and holistic treatment program meets each client where they are, working across physical and mental health to help each individual discover recovery in a peaceful environment. United Recovery Project also offers equine therapy, which is a uniquely beneficial therapy modality used across their male, female, and LGBTQ+ groups. The staff really cares and wants to see all of the clients succeed in their recovery. Staff is very motivating and encouraging, they take is to and from 12 step meetings. They take us on outings to the beach and Everglades. Also provide transportation to the gym everyday and also grocery shopping. Really happy with the level care, and my decision to come here.

When my son first arrived at Genesis House in October, he was in such difficult shape that I wondered if I would ever see him whole again. He was disheveled, wearing a single shoe, and weighed down by struggle. Even the roadtrip to get him to the facility was absolute chaos. The staff welcomed him with compassion and gave him the structure and care he needed to begin his recovery. Now, just over a month since his discharge, I can see the restoration taking hold. He takes his medicine faithfully, as he now seems to understand the importance of proper rest and a stabilized mood. Last week he stood for family Christmas portraits, children by his side, looking healthy, clear eyed, smooth skin, and a radiant smile. Those photos reflect not only progress, but the wholeness he is striving toward; due in large part to the wonderful care he received at Genesis House. As his mother, I was a strong and persistent advocate for his health. Relentless would be putting it lightly at times, but Genesis House met that energy with patience and understanding. If you are a parent who is in fear of losing an adult child to their mental health struggles, then you know the desperation that you feel when you worry that this may be your only chance to intervene so you cannot afford to blow it. Genesis House didn’t just provide treatment; they navigated that process with care and thoughtfulness. We will always be grateful for the role they played in his journey.

URP truly saved my life. I began my journey at their detox center, Genesis House, feeling completely lost. Thankfully, after some incredibly compassionate staff encouraged me to stay, I decided to continue into their PHP and IOP programs — and that decision changed everything. At the PHP house, I didn’t just begin healing — I learned how to live again. I learned how to be a person, how to be an adult, how to love myself, and how to show love and respect to others.
