Wis Hope is NOT the place to go if you are withdrawing from benzodiazepines. The nurse practitioner refused to give me my taper medicine after only being there for 3-4 days as she told me verbatim, "withdrawals only last 5 days". I knew that was false but, I regrettably trusted her since it was her profession. The following day, I started vigorously shaking and told staff I was going to have a seizure. I've had 6 seizures in the past from benzo withdrawal so I know when it comes. Still, she refused to give me my taper medicine so I signed myself out of the program and went to the ER. At this point, I was experiencing delirium tremens and was incoherent until the doctor gave me a Valium injection. I literally would have died if I hadn't left Wis Hope.

Wishope is unlike any other treatment facility I’ve been to or seen in my experience of reaching out for help with addiction. They offer so many benefits and opportunities to help everyone come together as a community and heal. Wishope takes each person individually and provides them with the care they need, because everyone has a different story and they understand that. Wishope saved my life and my perspective of AA and NA, along with the way I view myself and what I have to offer in this world. I wouldn’t be who I am or where I am in life without this program. I just wanted to say that after doing the 30 day residential at WisHope in Brodhead I was unsure where my path was going to lead me but I made my way into the WisHope community center in Baraboo where I live and it has changed my life. Bethany is my my peer specialist and she is amazing she has gone above and beyond to help me in my road to recovery and I enjoy working with her very much. The work they are doing there her especially has gotten me to where I am now which is 4 months sober. And I think her and WisHope in general for helping me along my way
