Aurora Behavioral Health Care San Diego

This is for the billing department- I have been a patient of Aurora two separate occasions within five years of each other. Now every time I've gotten the bills from you guys it was printed on the first of the month I checked my mailbox every day I got it on the 10th of the month and the due date was the 11th of the month that is not cool and I know I'm not the first one. My insurance company also said that they received paperwork and the invoices were late. you guys really need to look at your billing department and get things tightened up over there other than that it was great thank you guys for your services. but I'm only printing this because I don't want this to happen to other individuals who are seeking medical attention and services great services but then get pressed To a due date that is way too soon because you're billing department cannot be proactive, also There's been a few times where your billing department doesn't go through the insurance that was provided now I gave them my insurance card had them Make a copy of it just so that wouldn't happen because the first time around you guys forgot to charge my insurance and it was a whole Nother turn of events so please look at those people that are incorrectly doing their jobs thank you.

I called to get information and resources and they were treating me like if I was the person seeking help. I was just looking for answers cause I already had called the crisis houses see about their process and I just felt like overall they were unprofessional asking questions that are irrelevant what kind of insurance the person has is irrelevant at the moment I wanted to know if there was a drop off point for people who are in need of their services that they provide the lady was not professional did not know how to actually proceed with a phone call. My questions were very simple she wanted names and numbers and this that and the other I highly recommend some new training because that was horrible service that she provided. I had to end the call with her. I was getting nowhere with her so I wanted to make sure I put a review.

Hello, my name is James Biggs. I’m a 34-year-old white and Cherokee male, and I’ve faced significant mental health challenges sonce i was a kid and they still grestly affect me to this day. It took me a long time to get to a place of healing, and Aurora Behavioral Health truly changed my life. I have struggled with mental health issues my entire life and after going through two sexual assaults which were both committed by demons who manifested in human form while I was homeless. I didnt know these beings who assaulted were both demons until the second sexual assault happened and while this evil Jewish demon told me his name who after the sexual assault Happened I was beginning to get a strange feeling as if something worse .ifht happen now cuz this demonic entity had a gun in his back pack and I was scarred for mu my life. I began to pray to God for help and protection and right after that this demon ran like a bat out of hell like a scarred animal. Afterwards I has lost some trust in men after a traumatic experience. Dr. Anem was the first male psychiatrist whom I felt I could trust, and his empathy and care made a huge difference. And to honest I have been institutionalized in mental hospitals over 30 times in my life and hands down Dr. Anem is the best psychiatrist that treated me in a hospital setting. It's hard to believe that he is only a little older than me and he has already he has such a great practicing physiscian. And one final thing for the first time in a mental hospital I actually enjoyed every group that they had and I even learned some new things. But my favorite group of all was music therapy lead by thos cool cst named Tom. He actually brought a grip of instruments and all the patients that time joined in for one big hospital jam sesh. I had know idea that tom would be able to que each of us in at the perfect time to stay in harmony. Oh and the food there was practically bomb.com I also want to give special thanks to Paula, Sep, Virginia, Mira, Andy, Keno, Nicole, Larry, Casey, Ben, Drew, Cassie, Raymond, Sam, Yvette, Jessica, and a special shout-out to Victoria 🦋 whom one day I believe will evolve from her current position as a bhs and i think she will become the greatest nurse San Diego has ever seen! The entire team, including the cafeteria crew, made my stay comfortable and safe. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. And there's no way I could ever forget some real G's that seemed to always hold it down no matter what chaoticcraziness occurs when one of us reaches boiling point and snaps. I would definitely recommend aurora mental health to any one who is struggling with a mental health crisis like I was. And overall i would have to give it two thumbs up no doubt!👍 👍 one last thing I was able to create a beautiful artwork masterpiece so I will add it to the review. I would most definitley say thst my 14 day stay this last time at aurora behavidefinitely made a positive impact on my life and I hope I never forget all the love I felt there by all of the staff members and other patients there whom some which have become new friends. And after all the moments of crisis which became the reasons which lead to me becoming admitted there. Now im AURORA 4 LYFE 👽

I am the patient abused by this facility. My family previously wrote and I agree with what was described. I am now able to come forward yet I fear retribution. It was a mistake to think my contacts and reports to facility would be taken seriously. They have blown off attempts to explain, resolve or confirm sanction of the offending clinical therapist Kiana under the direction of Dr Wilke, DO about why my civil, personal, emotional and medically necessary disability rights were denied and myself publicly humiliated. Enough time has passed to indicate there is not and never has been any regard for my person, health, safety, integrity or human and civil rights. Attempts to improve conditions resulted in further deprioritizing, alienation, ridicule and worsening of conditions. Follow up 2x by patient advocate stating "need more time to investigate" has stopped. No further contact regarding my detailed complaint. This in itself is yet another reason why this and all complaints matter. As patient, I am now exposed and in the open, beyond personal discomfort, to pursue make my story known, to pursue all moral and legal rights, including but not limited to; insurance, local, state and federal agencies, medical boards, Center for Medicare OIG, elder-abuse and all avenues so that what happened to me at this facility never happens to any vulnerable, elderly or disabled ADA individual again.

Though this was a tough few days in my life, they treated me with care and respect, genuinely wanting to help me. They made an unpleasant experience much better than it could have been, and i am grateful to the professional staff that went out of their way to make all of us there comfortable

HELL not Help. My family member had to fight emotional abuse, the constant berating, public humiliation and denial of rights. My family member has required considerable treatment and expense to resolve the trauma inflicted. They make every excuse to support their staff wounding and injuring patients for furthering their goals $$. It is possible that they mistreat patients and humiliate them so they become dependent on approval from staff which is a different addiction through manipulation. It's obvious that its all about MONEY. If you have no long term potential to bill insurance, if you question anything they will terminate you. The creed of a medical facility overseen by a medical doctor is to do no harm. They will be reported to state and federal authorities. It deserves to be reported, investigated and closed.

When I stayed there the staff were good but they didn’t actually help us or keep us safe.

DO NOT GO HERE OR SEND YOUR KIDS HERE!!! Went here in 2021. The staff is absolutely atrocious in their handling of patients. It’s just drugging and sedating. The worst part is that they give sedatives in the buttocks area to people who have clearly been raped. They also do this when there are other patients around. This is a complete violation of their body and autonomy and re-traumatizes them. It’s evident because one person punched a giant hole in the wall after being agitated by this treatment. This was honestly sad to see. They really need to do their intake better to understand people’s trauma and issues. It’s like you’re in an Insane Asylum. They essentially keep patients as prisoners. They have guards who prevent people from leaving. They grab them and hold them down and drag them away. They don’t care to know people’s background or why they are currently doing the things that they are doing. They villainize and demonize patients and it shows on their faces. They are not a caring or compassionate staff despite what they may say. It’s all lies. While I was there they didn’t care or take the time to understand me. The psychiatrist I had didn’t even take time to help me with what I actually needed. There’s no deep investigative work on their part that they do with the patients to really unpack their internal issues. It’s like talking to a wall. It’s a sorry excuse for psychiatric care. They are not diligent in protecting certain patients from other patients. I have no idea why they are still around even seeing that they were horrible way back then as well as when I was there. I doubt they’ve changed in these four years. Again, and I cannot reiterate this enough… CHOOSE SOMEPLACE ELSE!!! You WILL regret staying here or sending a loved one here. This place makes things worse and not better.
