Balance Ketamine Clinic

I had 2 IV ketamine treatments. The first was fine. The second appt the nurse took me off the monitors, getting me ready to be discharged while I was actively hallucinating and could barely talk. I was panicking that I had become psychotic and would never be ok again because if they thought I should be discharged then I should feel fine. The NP came in and said I would feel better in about 10 minutes. I felt pressured to leave because the clinic was closing. As the NP walked me out he said “you are walking fine” so he could tell that I was still not back to baseline. They knew I was leaving on my own by Uber. When I spoke to providers in person about this in July and someone called to follow up then wouldn’t respond to return phone calls. I was going to let it go until I later became aware of a billing issue. I paid $750 cash for the 2 appts because I was told insurance does not cover the treatment. My insurance company paid $1,128.17 for the 2 appts and said I was responsible for $74.87. I spoke with someone in the end of October- someone else reached out then would not respond to calls or when I left copies of the insurance information in December. I spoke with someone in person in March who assured me on a Friday afternoon the billing issue would be resolved on Monday then stopped responding. It is very disappointing as I received my primary care through their clinic for about 9 years.

if anyone (especially POC) is looking through these reviews wondering if this is the right place for you, DO NOT COME HERE. I came in for a ketamine eval as I have been dealing with ptsd for some time and have been ready to try something new to help. met with Ross (I think that was his name, a white man) for the eval where they ask some pretty deep and personal questions. and of course me being the trusting person I am, answered as best I could. I explicitly remember telling the doctors assistant (who was taking the eval) that I did NOT want to die and I have NOT attempted self harm nor did I want to. He says ok, says the nurse will be in for some lab work. Nearly an hour later (yes they had me waiting for that long), two police men and an emt are entering my room and forcibly taking me to the ER for a psych eval. At no point was I made aware that this was happening nor did the clinic think to even contact my emergency contact. This was an incredibly traumatic experience given I was there for treatment and I was thrown into an AMBULANCE surrounded by COPS. Im sorry but ANY doctor that think this is an appropriate thing to do to someone who EXPLICITLY said they had ptsd is so unqualified to be anywhere near mental health patients let alone practicing. Anyways, thankfully the ER folks immediately knew I had no business being at the hospital because I already have a therapist and doctor who are active in my healing journey. A complete waste of time and an incredibly traumatic experience to add to the list of things I am trying to heal from. I was there for HOURS with no food or water and was completely stripped of my belongings and clothing. SHAME on this place. if ross and erika are reading this, you should both be incredibly ashamed and embarrassed and you should be nowhere near folks trying to better themselves. oh and this place took 225$ from me for this appointment and labs that were never even taken. DONT COME HERE

My last 2 ketamine treatments my head was hanging over the arm rest and my right arm was dangling to the floor. Eric did drop the dosage but again I just blacked out. Also, their was no processing just okay whenever you're ready to go. Those last 3 infusions I couldn't even walk without someone on either side. I feel like the money I gave them could have been towards a true ketamine clinic.

Balance Ketamine Clinic at AAYU has been an incredible experience! The environment is clean and atmospheric. They have a modern/minimalism feel that you don't see in most clinics. I felt safe in the room where the ketamine is given. It was reassuring to have professionals check you and your heart rate during treatment. They also do several tests beforehand to make sure it's safe for you to proceed with ketamine. Everyone, from the people who work at the front desk to the nurses and doctors have been very kind and attentive. Shout out to Eric, the nurse practitioner who gives and monitors the ketamine treatments. Anyone who follows through will be in very good hands with him. My first treatment didn't go as I expected it to and I was panicking. Not only did he call back right away, he made 2 follow up calls over that weekend. He legit cares about his patients. Ketamine itself has been life changing. I struggled with several severe mental health issues since I was 12. I just finished my 5th treatment and my overall mood is so much better. My thought process is clearer. It's not a magical cure, but a stepping stone to take additional steps towards healing in your treatment plan. For most people, the positive after effects start right after the first treatment. That wasn't the case for me. However, after treatment 4 I really started to feel the difference. Each treatment has felt better and better. I'm really happy I stuck this out! Thanks Aayu!

As a spouse of someone who has suffered depression and having watch them through trying times, using different medications and techniques such as mindfulness , yoga and exercise.. ketamine therapy is the first treatment that has really been helpful. It works and works quickly.

I'm already amazed by their hours alone. Many of us don't have the options of a Mon-Fri appt. Ive been on just about every antidepressant thinkable for over the past 20 yrs. The current "duo" Ive been on for about 3-4 yrs. Not even come close to feeling good. I can EASILY sleep 14-18 hrs on my days off, simply knowing once I wake up, its just another days of feeling edgy. I look forward to contacting these folks and seeking some relief!
