Residential programs for substance use and mental health with structured care and 24/7 monitoring. Treatment takes place on-site, with behavioral health professionals often providing care in group, individual, and family settings.
Outpatient treatment offers flexible therapeutic and medical care without the need to stay overnight in a hospital or inpatient facility. Outpatient care typically offers a range of therapies and medical interventions individuals can attend alongside daily life.
The highest level of care, medically managed with 24-hour nursing and physician care in a residential or medically-based setting, and can include any combination of medication, counseling and therapy.
Some primary care providers offer mental health diagnosis and treatment. This can prevent patients from developing more serious conditions.
Substance use and mental health can occur simultaneously as co-occurring disorders. Treatment for co-occurring disorders involves therapy and other personalized interventions to address both conditions.
Absolutely the best rehab experience of many! Feels like home and a family they truly care and the program taught me a lot! Counselors are great! Has a professional music studio! Everything is upscale! Thank You so much Vanity

The hospital is one of the better VA Hospitals.
This VA facility has one of the most incompetent doctors anywhere. They treat veterans like we are all homeless, psych patients. They have the worst attitudes and operate borderline malpractice. From incompetent and poorly trained Opthalmologist to absolutely one of the worst neurologist who could care less about your condition. The incompetence of these doctors are shocking. And their attitudes toward veterans are even worse. If you have a medical problem go see doctor outside of the VA system.
I have to say my medical stay at Edward Hines Jr. VA Medical Center was absolute top-notch. I have had to have multiple hospitalizations unfortunately since leaving the military (non-combat related) and I must say this VA was beyond amazing. Every aspect of my medical care was very professional, educational, and tremendous. If I had a question for a doctor; I would ask the nurse if he or she could relay a question and I would have an answer within minutes. There were times when the doctor would actually come to my room to answer the question. What would normally be a bummer; I had to stay in this hospital for Christmas this past year (2025) and it was actually just relaxing and healing. The MSA's, nurses, doctors, the meal crews, housekeeping, and pharmacy all receive an A+.
Going to the doctor (4th Flr, Rheumatology +) is much better when you start with this kind of check in service!
11Nov2025 Downgraded to 1 star Review After " Alexis " (Women Clinic) left a voicemail attempting to get me into an appointment. Alexis left me on hold for 10 minutes. Then lied about an open December appointment. Utilizing words like we only have one doctor that can see people "like you". She then stated that they only have openings for late February. I have never asked for services as a female or Transgender. I'm a guy, period. There is no reason for gender stereotyping because I choose to dress or look a certain way. As such the TSP CPT Dr.Jefferies chose to act with violence during one of our sessions. This is very vindictive behavior. Other than the outstanding lab department & Dr.Riz I do not recommend this location for now. ---------------------- 3Jul2025 (5 Five Review) A great man walked these halls. DR.B will be remembered and mark a standard of care that is yet to be seen at this location. No ceremony for a person who did the right thing always. What a joke how you treat a Doctor who served Veterans for 10 + years. Go to the back where the staff & doctors are sleeping sprawled out on all benches ( like hobos) specifically built gazebos for veterans. You should be ashamed of yourselves for taking a space designed for veterans especially ones that are homeless. ----------------------------- Old Review LGBTQ + Communities are out of this world. Just had the right hip replaced and all involved in my recovery were excellent. From Dr. Dan Schmitt, MD to the nurses on the 8th floor. Thank you. At home recovering. Also thanks to the night shift nurse that carried me through.
To all veterans, I highly recommend this VA hospital. I had major surgery here and everyone is top notch.
I feel like this and other VAs don’t actually care about patients. I was in the ER yesterday for a knee injury and was trying to see if they could do anything and asked for an update and what could be done. This one nurse or doc was snarky and said we are in the middle of training and said someone would get to me when they get to me. Training should happen but have more nurses and doctors there while the ones training are not able to work. Also just the sheer fact that I heard people gabbing and joking around when they should be seeing patients really got to me. I was in the medical field for 10 years and we didn’t sit around joking when there were patients waiting to get seen. Plus the VA doesn’t have prompt care which every other hospital has and if you have a sore throat or ear infection you have to go to the ER or make an appointment which is weeks or months out. It’s frustrating.
