My son has had a good experience so far with the staff and other kids there. I know he is working through some hard things and the staff seem to be caring and helpful. It’s been a supportive environment and I can see his attitude becoming more positive.

Horizons Recovery Peoria was an amazing experience for our daughter in a time of extreme need. They supported her through her PHP journey and helped to equip her with the tools that she needs moving into IOP and back home. In just the short time she has been home we have noticed changes in her and are looking forward to seeing her progress outside of treatment. We want to thank the staff at Horizons for all your hard work and meaningful dedication to not only my child but others as well. Someone I would like to point out is Stephanie and her commitment to communicating with us about our daughter and her progress. It was nice to have weekly text and phone calls with updates. We’ve had a wonderful experience with horizon & their entire team. From day one, the staff has been incredibly caring, patient, and supportive — not just with our child, but with us as parents too. They truly take the time to understand each child’s unique needs and meet them with compassion and professionalism. Communication has been excellent, and we’ve always felt heard and involved every step of the way. It’s clear that every staff member genuinely cares about the children they work with and is dedicated to helping them succeed emotionally, behaviorally, and socially. I’m writing to express serious concerns about our recent experience at the Deer Valley location. Unfortunately, it was extremely disappointing and left us feeling frustrated and concerned. While we fully acknowledge that our loved one can be challenging at times (after all, they are at a mental health facility for a reason) we were surprised by how unprepared and overwhelmed the staff appeared to be. The situation felt chaotic, and it seemed as though there was a lack of adequate communication, support, training, and staffing to handle the circumstances effectively. We strongly believe that with the right resources and preparation, the facility can better support not only the patients but also the families who are depending on compassionate, professional care. We hope you'll take this feedback seriously and address the issues we've raised.

Horizon Behavioral Health Center Review Treatment for Adolescence Residential treatment center. We are raving fans of the residential treatment center at Deer Valley and 91st avenue. This amazing residential treatment home serves two functions. Adolescents with mental health and substance abuse challenges are treated holistically over 30 or more days for the purpose of self discovery, confidence development, coping skills enhancement, overcoming triggers, and beginning to see growth as a process. The program starts with an adolescent cohort that eventually continues through a step down program including a partial hospitalization program offering. We witnessed a fully integrated group of healing professionals that worked for a singular purpose of instilling the recovery mindset in our son. Cesar (house supervisor), Ryan, Chris, Jacob ( behavioral health techs), Alta (nurse practitioner), Melissa (medical assistant), Stephanie (family liaison), Kiley (school tutor), Jaime administrative director) and Patrick(the CEO) all made meaningful touches our son and inspired our boys new growth mindset. It is said that it “takes a village”. Indeed, at Horizon, every employee plays an individual role that adds up for each patient and their development, as first cause! Perhaps, a linchpin among the tremendous band creating the environment for our sons recovery experience was Wendy, who was his group and 1-1 therapist. She asked insightful questions, made him feel safe, and provided constant dialogue to guide him through discovery that has resulted in clarity of thought and maximum resolve for sober health. Our boy emerged from his time as a leader within his cohort aiming not only for his own recovery and abstinence, but as importantly, as one following up on the progress of all the young men and women that entered the program with him. Treatment is a journey. Our family, expects the road to sobriety to be ongoing for life, learning better coping skills, freeing the body of toxic elements, weighing into purpose versus addiction. To truly feel life’s joys and and its pains in the present, clear mindedly, sans the numbness that stunts emotional development. The goal has emerged a reality: to strengthen resolve and enjoy esteem that grows in daily overcoming, using all the capacities that are innately given to us —emotionally, spiritually, and mentally, to navigate at our human best. Our son has begun to feel, and to process and to overcome, versus the avoidance that came at the other end of a substance. Thank you Horizon. All of you are the best and we will stay close as we journey together to reap life’s excellence.

Horizon Recovery Team is the best we have encountered with our child’s mental health struggles. They are all compassionate, caring and heard of concerns throughly.
