Multi Concept Recovery Redwood

MCR Redwood City helped me build the skills I needed to support my emotional health. I use what I learned in my everyday life to manage stressful situations. Higher emotional intelligence has allowed me to lead a happy and productive life.

The counselors and therapists at MCR are amazing! They are so knowledgeable and understanding. Whether you are there for mental health or substance abuse they have great treatment programs. I learned so much about myself and the skills I need to be successful.

My experience at MCR over the past six months has been incredibly helpful. The community I’ve built here has played a huge role in supporting my recovery. Angela and David, my case managers, have been consistently supportive and genuinely invested in my journey. Chris, my therapist, has truly been the best—he’s helped me see things from a new perspective and grow in ways I didn’t expect. Overall, my experience has been amazing, and I continue to go back as often as I can each week because it remains such a meaningful part of my recovery.

I highly recommend this program. The week is structured to cover a broad variety of topics for mental health and substance abuse. Most of all, I always felt very “heard” by the staff when I needed to escalate issues. No program is perfect, but they always held space for any concerns.

Excellent place to get support in mental health and recovery from substance abuse. Very client oriented and a caring environment. I personally had a very positive experience here from day one. They helped me learn a lot about myself and how to improve my life beyond the program after graduation. Thank you MCR!

MCR was a great choice for my continued recovery. I wanted to complete my IOP by expanding into emotional recovery as opposed to a purely addiction based program and they fit the bill. The staff is involved, proactive and caring, and the facility provides a group setting alongside individual psychiatry and therapy, making things efficient so that you can focus on what you need to heal. I highly recommend MCR of you're looking into any type of treatment. Just a heads up, the admin can be a bit challenging to deal with. While the on-site staff is outstanding, the admin likes to talk about putting patients before profit but presents with very strict and, in some cases (especially for me, with a ton of medical appointments) are very unyielding to people in recovery trying to stabilize their health. Be firm and do what you need to do for you, your recovery is really your choice.

This place has it all very intelligent group of Theripest and they care for there clients the group are very in depth all the clients help one another go though the good changes of life the one one theirpisst are very engaged on what has to be brought out and work on the issues I highly recomend MCR for help to have a great life. 5 stars for onsite staff — 2 stars for administrative team Onsite case managers and therapists are excellent. Group content was helpful and informative. Counselors truly care about participants and are committed to making a positive impact. CEO Evan Amarni lacks empathy, understanding, and doesn’t seem fit to be working in mental health field. Poor communication about expectations but quick to pass judgment and chastise participants. Encourages participants to go in to group setting while sick and symptomatic, seemingly for the sake of profit. Admin belittle participants and question commitment if unable to attend program for any period of time, even with supporting documentation regarding absence. While onsite program staff are top notch I would consider alternative options if you are not comfortable going in to a group setting where people are actively sick and still expected to show up and sit in a room with no windows or ventilation for 6 hours/day.
