I’m in such a more stable place mentally and I just hit a year sober and I owe so much of what I have to PBH! I have dealt with mood, anxiety, trauma, and addiction issues for my whole life, and PBH helped me finally make the breakthrough I needed. I’m gonna talk about some of the things at this program that worked for me. The living situation was very comfortable and pretty nice, and there were behavioral techs for support during the day and a house manager 24/7. Also, all of my treatment team gave me their contact info and I could reach out to them too (during reasonable hours) if I felt like I needed more support. The structure of living there, doing things like morning affirmation kind of readings, having weekly house check-ins, and chores helped me so much when I needed that structure. (Also, now I have the really good habit of making my bed every morning). There was also of course the structure of the program itself, and doing PHP and slowly graduating to IOP and then less IOP and then OP. Having a case manager and doing weekly case management was great too, staff would help with anything from job searches to getting state benefits or even just a San Diego library card. There was also really awesome medication management and frequent check ins with the prescriber. When I was ready, I was also moved to the IOP house with slightly less structure before I left the program. And I should definitely mention that the therapeutic program and approach was so incredible! We covered so many important and helpful topics in groups, and then I met with my therapist every week where we would talk about these things, and in my case we did EMDR (a PTSD treatment) as well, which was so impactful. I think that after coming out of inpatient treatment, this program helped me learn so much about myself and how to navigate the issues I face, and it really helped me transition back into a regular and independent adult life (I didn’t think I could ever get there honestly!). There are so many more awesome aspects I could talk about, but I just really recommend this program to anyone seeking help for mental health, addiction, or both. I’ve tried a lot of programs and nothing else has stuck, but this time, at PBH, something clicked.

I had an absolutely amazing experience at PB Health. The staff genuinely care and go above and beyond to support you. The programming is thoughtful, well-organized, and truly makes a difference. The houses are clean, comfortable, and clearly well taken care of. I felt supported, safe, and set up for success every step of the way. I’m incredibly grateful for my time here and would highly recommend PB Health to anyone looking for a solid, compassionate recovery environment.

Where do I even begin to start this review Pacific Beach Mental Health I was in a very dark spot last November and they helped with all of their stuff and that all of their willingness to get me out of the place that I was at I am forever grateful and I owe that team a great deal of respect and care. They help put me back together again when I was lost if you were an ever need, please reach out to them. They are an asset to the community and I want to keep going on with my mental health. This was a great program!!! I gained knowledge and tools that will help me through out my life. staff member were genuine and honest, made me feel heard and accepted. Ian especially helped me feel more comfortable at PBH, he’s a great therapist, mentor and someone who understands and truly cares. I would recommend going here to anyone struggling or not knowing what to do in life, my only regret is that I didn’t stay longer. Thank you to the staff and friends I met along the way<3
