This facility and program is SO COOL!!! Probably one of the most interesting and beautiful treatment facilities I've seen. Also amazing people that work here, DOGS, yummy food and fun!

Red Oak provided me with just what I needed and things I didn’t even know I needed to truly begin my sober journey. The facility and staff are top notch. Amazing people who really care and are doing great things for people’s lives. I highly recommend Red Oak!!

Wow 👏🏼👏🏼 Magical recovery program and BEAUTIFUL location. Everyone that works at Red Oak is truly wonderful and there’s so many interesting additions that makes this facility so special.

When attempting to reach Red Oak regarding their billing, I discovered that they use a sales office that represents greater than 30 treatment facilities. At no point were we told that the initial call regarding treatment went to a sales office, with the intent to steer our family to a center with rates that border on extortion. Though my health insurance was charged $153,000 during the time of my son's stay, they insisted on additional cash payments. For room and board, they charged $6000 per month. My son was in a room with five other men, meaning that the facility was charging $36,000 per month for room and board only. This did not include treatment or medications. When our family was unable to keep paying out of pocket, my son was discharged without medications, without follow up appointments, and without a discharge plan. During the three months that he was there, he never saw a physician, a nurse practitioner or a physician's associate, yet he was charged for repeat medical exams. Who was performing these exams, since he was never seen by a medical professional? That is a fraudulent business practice. In addition, he reported that he was given his medications by what he reports as "camp staff." This included the medication suboxone, which is a controlled substance, which should have been given by a nurse. My son reported that he was never given medication by a RN. Now, this company has resorted to harassing my family for $20,000. For what? The substandard care that was received, the complete disregard for his safety, and the subsequent clamor for additional money is nothing short of disgusting. Was the $153,000 that my insurance was billed not enough to cover a staffer handing out medications? Not enough to keep six men in one room, to feed them hamburgers and hotdogs? This facility is an embarrassment, and should be shut down by the state.

My brother needed urgent treatment soon after Hurricane Helene, and Red Oak was able to take him in while much of Western NC was utterly destroyed. He stayed for about 2 months, and they did keep him alive thank god. However, despite sharing a room with at least 4 other people at any given time and being fed mostly unhealthy foods like hamburgers and hot dogs, Red Oak charged us OVER $10,000 a month JUST for room and board. They said this was considered a "financial hardship" amount, and their regular rate was closer to $16,000 / month or more -- again JUST FOR ROOM AND BOARD. They also billed my brother's insurance for over $135,000!!!!! And they insisted he go to a specific facility to detox before going to Red Oak, which was over $8,000 out of pocket. I drained my account and used credit cards to pay for the first month and the detox, they pressured us into him staying for another month using fear tactics of my brother dying if he left. When the second month was up, despite a lot of back and forth about needing to find him a more affordable place for a third month, they failed to come through on any kind of plan for him, plans fell through for a more affordable option in Tennessee, and instead of communicating any of this with us they just let him stay, knowing they'd be collecting OVER $350 PER DAY just out of my family's pockets. We had to hurry him out and into a sober house in Hickory where he had zero support, they did zero follow up and clearly did not care at all about his transition. He relapsed within days. Now, he is at a FREE program in Maryland, 7 months sober and doing great. DO NOT LET PLACES LIKE THIS SCARE YOU INTO HANDING OVER YOUR LIFE SAVINGS. There are other options out there. Absolutely disgusting amounts of money and fear tactics.

This facility Red Oak recovery center is a unique treatment 👌 facility that gives clients space and time to heal. For me I know I gained a clear understanding of who l was and what I needed to do in order to love opening my eyes every morning. I found that I was ungrateful. Gratitude is why I want to joyfully scream and scream and scream thank you to the staff way up on that mountain. They may not hear my sound but I know in their goodness they'll feel my spirit. I highly recommend Red Oak to anyone struggling with everyday life challenges.
