At Red Mountain Sedona, young adults ages 18–30 find a supportive space to overcome challenges and step into a life of independence and purpose. As a primary mental health program that also treats co-occurring disorders and mild to moderate substance use, Red Mountain specializes in helping clients navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, neurodivergence, and compulsive behaviors. With an average stay of 6.5 to 10 months, the program provides the time, structure, and support needed to create lasting change. Experience Transformation from the Inside Out At Red Mountain Sedona, every young adult embarks on a journey of healing and growth. Rather than a one-size-fits-all model, their highly individualized approach blends science-backed therapies, mindfulness, life skills training, and executive function coaching to meet each person exactly where they are. Clients learn to pause and choose new responses, developing self-awareness and confidence while healing past wounds through trauma care. Within a supportive, all-gender community, they gain the tools to create a life rooted in intention and resilience. Live Independently with Thoughtful Support At Red Mountain Sedona, clients live in two-bedroom apartments right next to the program offices, creating the perfect blend of independence and support. Each client has a private room but with plenty of shared space for laughter and connection. The clubhouse features a coffee bar and music studio, art spaces, games, and quiet hangout spots. And at Red Mountain Sedona, technology is thoughtfully integrated into daily life: students receive their own laptops and phones, so they can learn to build healthy habits into daily life. Step Forward Surrounded by Support Red Mountain Sedona’s optional Alumni add-on provides ongoing individual therapy, family support, recovery coaching, and group activities within a supportive environment. Regular alumni dinners and shared experiences create meaningful connections so that graduates feel supported and never alone as they begin the next chapter of their journey.

I can't say enough about the integrity and positive, transformative impact of Red Mountain Sedona on our son and as a result, our entire family. Our son attended Red Mountain Sedona from September 2024- April 2025 and it was truly life affirming and life changing for him. He is a very bright, kind young adult who struggled mightily with depression and addiction to marijuana coming out of the shutdown of Covid. He dropped out of college (and reapplied and dropped out again) many times over three years before attending a wilderness therapy program (Pure Life Adventure in Costa Rica, which was also deeply positive and transformational). RMS helped our son to deepen the positive habits he created during his wilderness therapy experience and and create structure around the skills he learned there, and to generate internal motivation, as well compassion and structure in his life. RMS gave our son community, deep and supportive mental health therapy, daily mediation and greater self compassion and introspection, as well as taught him many life skills he missed due to his years of depression/addiction. He was able to re-build his self confidence, now lives a sober and highly productive life. He has returned to college with a deep sense of purpose, a belief in himself, and awareness of his needs, and the ability to ask for help. Most importantly, he has learned the internal fortitude and coping skills to handle the inevitable challenges life brings. We are eternally grateful to RMS. Our son has shared his experience with visiting educational consultants and is happy to talk to prospective students. RMS has his contact info. I am happy to share our experience as well. It is a hard time to be a young adult, and also to be a parent of a young adult. Hang in there.

If you are considering RMS please take a moment to read our family experience. Our loved one arrived at RMS with multiple challenges; addiction, mental health issues and all the related layered difficulties. RMS was chosen for their program structure. When our loved one arrived, the program road map was quickly defined. Our loved one understood what was needed to do to progress through each stage to graduate. The care team led by Ryan M as the therapist and the case manager Matt G were a gift! Their knowledge to understand our loved one’s needs was innate. Every staff member knew our loved ones’s name and treated our loved one like a family member. Mentors were always present to assist with any need. Our loved one stayed at RMS for over a year. It’s been 7 months since graduation, our loved one is sober, independent, working in the social services sector and still attending all the programs taught at RMS to stay sober and successful. We are eternally grateful for RMS.
