Riveredge Hospital Community Residential Center

Great experience, the staff are really nice and make you feel welcomed.

I was recently in Adult inpatient Psychiatric treatment. I had excellent care. The Mental Health Associates were attentive and empathic. My Psychiatrist, Dr Shabbir was attentive and empathic. I was able to talk to her without any judgement. Housekeeping kept environment clean and sanitized. The psychosocial groups allowed me to feel safe to discuss sensitive issues. Dietary Services were excellent. I was able to choose what I wanted to eat when I went down to cafeteria with my inpatient unit. Social Workers were part of my treatment team that provided additional support. The nursing staff was excellent. They went over all medications and explained what each medications purpose was. Also, they were efficient and quick to notify physicians regarding any question and concerns. The transportation services was safe and driver was courteous.

Nurses are rude when they talk to you they need better staff with more positive attitude and nurses that know how to talk to other human beings because omg they can do a lot better

Going into this experience we were told many good things about this facility. To start off w my daughter sat in the hospital for 26 hrs after being accepted into this hospitalization program waiting for transportation. Once she got there she spent almost 3 full days sick. She was not able to eat, savere stomach pain and anytime staff would convince her to eat or drink something she would throw up. A few hours after riveredge informed dad she was headed to the er, we called and they informed us that it would still be a few hours before that would be able to transport our daughter to the er. Once at the medical hospital they decided she was not well enough to return to riveredge at that time. A few days went by and my daughter was medically released. tlThey decided to transport my daughter to a different mental health hospital. Riveredge refused to take my daughters clothes to the medical hospital that was 5 min away or to the other mental health hospital that was 15 min away. We informed them that the week or 2 that she will be there she will need her clothes. They told us there was 2 options to receive her clothes. We could have them send us the clothes or come get them. So we ended driving to Chicago (3 hrs 1 way) to do a job that would of taken them 15-30 min. How can a place like this not be understanding?

For a hospital that has mentally unstable children there are too many employees that have no compassion or understanding. Yelling at a child is not a way to help them, for most it's a trigger. There are too many fights that happen between children which makes it unsafe for others. They do not tell parents upon admission that there is a 5 day release paper a parent can sign to have their child out in 5 days. I feel that is deceitful. There were some kind employees which I did appreciate. I supplied clothes for my child, but it took 3 days for staff to get them for him to wear. I also brought daily items he needs to take and they did not give it to him the entire time. The place is more like jail with limited time on calls and visits. I would not recommend a child to go there.

Bad I been there

My Brother Jerricho was a patient on ITU and he spoke highly of Theresa/ Coach of how patient she was with him. Cause lord knows he can give us problems.. FYI shout out James cause he was cool with him too🫶🏽💯
