Hidden River Healing is a residential program for biological teen girls’ ages 11-20 struggling with eating disorders. First opening in 2019, their program addresses eating disorders and the co-occurring mental health conditions that can accompany it. Led by a team of experts, the Hidden River program involves individual counseling, medical assessments, nutritional counseling, art therapy, recreational therapy, group therapy, and family involvement. Hidden River provides on-site nursing 24-7 along with therapeutic activities like healthy exercise, restaurant outings, gardening, and more. Academics On-Site At Hidden River, middle and high school patients receive personalized academic sessions for 2 hours daily, Monday to Friday. A certified teacher collaborates with the patient’s school district and guidance counselor to identify necessary assignments, aiming to help each patient catch up or stay on track with their grade-level coursework. Treatment Setting Hidden River is situated on 12 acres of stunning landscape in Chester, Morris County. The 22-bed house, constructed in the 1920s, has undergone extensive renovation and modernization without losing its nostalgic charm. The inviting common areas boast large windows offering scenic views of the grounds. Bedrooms and bathrooms are elegantly furnished, and several patios provide convenient access to the outdoors.
